[And, about halfway through the night, Ginia might have noticed that she's picked up a shadow. A helpful shadow, but a shadow, smiling at guests and gathering up empty plates and occasionally almost going on stage before chickening out and backing off before he's noticed.

Giles isn't saying much, but he looks a little better. Less jittery, less jumping at anyone getting within a foot of him.]

[Hello, shadow. Ginia smiles when she notices Giles shadowing her, letting him keep it up for awhile and watching him as she works and socializes. However, she only allows him to keep it up for so long before she confronts him.]

Giles, are you going to perform tonight or not?

[He starts when she finally speaks to him, nearly dropping the plate he was just picking up. Darts a glance up at her, looks away...and then actually does look back. Sheepishly:] Um...n-not. P-Probably.

[There's a slight frown, but she reaches out to touch his arm.]

Relax, Giles, I'm not going to make you perform if you don't want to.

Y-You're...

[He frowns, as though seriously attempting to recollect something, staring down at his feet as he does so. Finally, shaking himself off, Giles looks back up at her with a frown to match.]

W-What, um...w-what about you?

[There's a light wave at the piano and stage.] I have to do my part, right? Besides, maybe I like showing off a bit.

[Her expression softens and she steps in to kiss his cheek, hand moving to rest on his chest.]

I'm glad you're here. Thank you.

[Especially considering how he's been avoiding people.]
