New Year's brings images of crowds, and songs, and fireworks; staying up til midnight and watching balls or bells being rung. But Luceti is a different time and place. Whether you're partying with friends or watching the sunrise, what are you doing today?

O-Oh. Giles. Um th-thank you. [ There's a very apparent smile and it looks true nothing forced. After knowing what's going on with his best friend he can't help but still be worried. ]

Are you enjoying yourself thus far?

O-Oh, um, y-yes. [He nods without thinking, before looking up again at the last few fading sparks of the latest batch.

He is. It's just...a feeling that's hard to deal with, right now.]

[ Helios' eyes widen for a second and then he nods, that smile waning but still apparent on his features. ] I-I'm glad you did. I'm glad that you...you c-came. I'm not sure it'd be the same if you didn't, honestly.

[ Because what's a celebration without friends, right? A new year, a fresh clean start. He's just hoping everything works out this year. ]

Oh, d-don't be ridiculous. Things would have been, um, j-just fine without me. Th-They, um, they generally are.

No. No they wouldn't have been. They weren't...they weren't last year.

[ There's the unspoken - when you left. But Helios' look is quite telling and conveying of what he means. ] It wasn't the same at all.

[ Helios shakes his head and holds up his good hand, the hand that can actually flex all the way to an open palm and not leave him seeing stars. ] Please Giles. You don't have to thank me for anything. If it were me I'm sure you'd do much the same actually.

Giles can't help but laugh affectionately, at this last, before darting a quick look back up at Helios.]

Yes well you don't have to do that either. Though I do appreciate the thought but it's hardly necessary. H-have you had any of the food that's out and about?

[ Helios makes a gesture towards the stands. ] It's all quite good. And I-I'm not sure where Ginia went off to. I saw her earlier so she should be around here somewhere.

Yes, I have. It's, um, it is. All very good, I mean. And I've seen Ginia all over the place. D-Don't know how she does it. [He gives a little shudder at the very thought of willingly putting himself in front of quite so many people.] But, um, I...decided to get out of her way, f-for a little while.

I'd be inclined to say magic but, well, Ginia. [ Aside from Hyt's illusions he's not sure how she would. Unless she's been reading up on his teleportation spells. Hm.

Helios blinks looking honestly confused and then a bit more dour. ]

Why? I-I'm sure she'd love to have you in her company to, to celebrate this with her.

I-I've, I've been in her company most of the night, Helios. [Well, "company" might be a strong word for it, but he's tried, that's undeniable.]

...I w-wanted to see how you were doing. And, um, w-watch the fireworks.

O-Oh I-I see. [ He somehow feels he's imposing, still. Helios will sigh a shake his head. ] I'm glad people are enjoying them, at least.
