sundead: (with her)

Out with the old....

Who: Everyone
What: New Year's.
When: Dec. 31st, New Year's Eve, to Jan 1st, New Year's Day.
Where: Everywhere
Summary: It's New Year's, and the people of Luceti have a lot to reflect upon, and to look forward to. And on a more meta level, new journal names.
Rating: We'll see...

New Year's brings images of crowds, and songs, and fireworks; staying up til midnight and watching balls or bells being rung. But Luceti is a different time and place. Whether you're partying with friends or watching the sunrise, what are you doing today?
shadedsunlight: (I look at you and smile because I'm fine)

Ginia smiles when she sees Kairi and nods in agreement. It's been a great party so far and as a happy little hostess, she couldn't ask for any better.

"Indeed. I'm really glad. A nice way to end the year and ring in a new one. Are you having fun?"
meteorical: (aw you're cute)

[personal profile] meteorical 2012-01-05 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Definitely having fun. I'm so glad to see such a huge turnout. I'm hoping my housemates decided to come down after all...I can't even remember if anyone had a party for New Years last year. Everything blurs together after a while." She paused finally to take a breath, though she's still pretty excited.

"What's going on over at Cloud Nine?"

"I hope to see them around! I think it's great whenever the village comes together for anything. Everything becomes so lively and fun."

Ginia takes another moment to look around at all the people, chatting, eating, drinking, laughing. It's a good night to live.

"Live music, socializing, drinking."
meteorical: (there's a halo)

[personal profile] meteorical 2012-01-05 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm sure at least half of them will. Two of the boys aren't exactly social butterflies, but if they don't come I'll have to go get them. This is just what we needed to perk up from how dreary winter can be. I'm still trying to get used to the cold and the snow, but that's typical after living on an island for so long."

She laughs a little. That's just the answer she expected. "Glad everybody's able to share mutual interests just for tonight."
shadedsunlight: (Looking back at sunsets on the eastside)

"I'm used to cold winters, but sometimes it really gets to you. I've always liked retreating somewhere warm. Though don't tell everyone just yet, but I've been talking to Rise and we're thinking about doing a summer-themed party at the Battle Dome for the next New Feather party. Using one of the rooms to create a tropical island or something."
meteorical: (bubbly)

[personal profile] meteorical 2012-01-05 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Really? That sounds perfect. The New Feather party is probably soon, isn't it? The next cycle's in a few days if I'm counting time right. Either way, it'd put all of the new people at ease."
shadedsunlight: (Everything about you resonates happiness)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2012-01-05 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, we should be expecting people any day now. It'll be a nice way for everyone to take their minds off the weather, celebrate and have some fun."

A thought occurs to her and she smiles.

"Hey! Since you lived on an island, would you mind giving us suggestions on what to put in the environment?"
meteorical: (taste of her cherry chapstick)

[personal profile] meteorical 2012-01-05 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
She looks briefly surprised at the question. Well...it can't hurt to share, right?

"Sure! What sort of plan do you already have? That way I know what not to mention."
shadedsunlight: (Life is way too short to be unhappy)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2012-01-09 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"We've only thrown around a few ideas, but an area for swimming so some kind of beach. Maybe a dock where people can dive off of or sit around on? The idea is relaxation and summer fun to get everyone's mind off the weather outside."
meteorical: (she's just the flavor of the week)

[personal profile] meteorical 2012-01-10 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
"Make sure you have an area of just plain sand so that people can sunbathe and build sandcastles. I know one of the things I loved the most about our play island back home was just sitting on the sand and making things, hanging out with my friends while the boys sparred. I think you're on the right track though with a swimming area and a dock. Maybe other options too...supply boats and surfboards and things."
shadedsunlight: (Looking back at sunsets on the eastside)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2012-01-10 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"Those sound like great ideas. Sandcastles are a critical part of beach activities. And definitely some surfboards, inner tubes, and other water floats. Maybe one or two row boats too. Any other suggestions?"
meteorical: (seasalt love)

[personal profile] meteorical 2012-01-11 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
"Lots of snacks. Snacks and drinks." Because really, who wants to drink salt water? "Otherwise I think that's a pretty solid plan. It's just enough to be entertaining and take their minds off of the situation, but not enough that they don't have to use their imaginations."
shadedsunlight: (Here's to a new day)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2012-01-11 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
"How about a barbecue? Get a grill going and everything? And assorted ice cream for dessert?"
meteorical: (kairi)

[personal profile] meteorical 2012-01-11 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Sounds perfect. Let me know when you get started with that...I'd love to help."
shadedsunlight: (I'm proud of you)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2012-01-12 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
"I will, I promise. The main thing we're looking at is if there's a limit to how long a scenario can run. Wouldn't want things to shut down on everything halfway through the party, after all. But I'm sure we'll need lots of help with food. We always do on that front."
meteorical: (taste of her cherry chapstick)

[personal profile] meteorical 2012-01-12 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"It should last a couple of hours, at least. That would be enough time wouldn't it? But I guess you're right, something to look into. But that sounds great. Food I can do. Just let me know."
shadedsunlight: (Smile like you mean it)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2012-01-13 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll keep you informed. Selphie and Rise are the others two helping with this." Ginia stops to look around at the current party going on, then to grin back to Kairi. "It'll be a good way to show the New Feathers we know how to have fun and things will be okay."
meteorical: (gigglefit)

[personal profile] meteorical 2012-01-13 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
She can't help but laugh a little at the mention of Selphie. Not that there's anything really funny about it, but it's funnier when she thinks of it as her Selphie from the island. "They seem like the best ones to handle it." She follows Ginia's gaze, nodding in agreement. "It's a positive message. I like it. I almost wish something like this was in place when I first showed up."
shadedsunlight: (Should I just get along with myself)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2012-01-17 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
"What were things like before?" She knows the Welcome Center wasn't always around and things have changed over the year, but it's not something too many people talk about either.
meteorical: (oh really?)

[personal profile] meteorical 2012-01-17 07:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Definitely not this organized...a lot of people either had to rely on having friends here, or fending for themselves until one of the older feathers noticed them and pitched in to help." That was the one thing Kairi really did like about Luceti. Most everyone wanted to make sure the people were safe. "It was a good sense of community, but there were still a lot of things that people had to do themselves. Without the Welcome Center, people had to be put into houses and apartments right away before they could even get their bearings. It was kind of depressing."
