New Year's brings images of crowds, and songs, and fireworks; staying up til midnight and watching balls or bells being rung. But Luceti is a different time and place. Whether you're partying with friends or watching the sunrise, what are you doing today?

Oh wow, there sure are a lot of them. Some of them even sound similar to ours. [LIKE SNOGGLETOG cool I remembered one.] I still find it really neat how everyone comes from different worlds though. Some are similar to ours, and others are completely different, you know? [And really cool, like wherever Luke Skywalker's from.]

Yeah, I know. It's really amazing when you think about it. All those worlds out there, other than ours and the demon world. And heaven, if we count that place. [Yeah whatever that's God's place who cares about that]

[That place.] Yeah, it really is. And then there are all of the different times people can come from too.

[...hmmm.] ..Actually, on that note... Do you think it would've been possible for one of us to come from different points? [or even different paths..]

...It's quite possible. [It's an idle thought of his. But Atsuro's reaction back then made Kouki assumed they're from roughly the same point.] What's the last major thing you remembered?

[Dark and demonic worlds are clearly cooler.

Well, they had mentioned Metatron and the war but... it's probably a good idea to get it straightened out regardless.] Well, you were in the demon world, so... [Not like Kou would really know what was going on over in the human world.] We went along with Naoya's plan so you could become the King of Bel and fight against God to lift the Lockdown.

[There's a sense of relief, which surprised Kouki a little. What was he expecting? That Atsuro's from a world where he chose differently?]

That's what I remembered as well. We went with Naoya's plan, so I became the King of Bel to fight God for humanity.

[At the cost of his own humanity. What's left is his human heart, figuratively.] ...So that makes us from the same world and point?

[Oh, good. That's a relief. It'd certainly be at least a little awkward had they not been from the same path. --And bel or not, Kou's still Kou, so..!

He nods.] Since we were in different worlds at the time, we can't really know for sure whether they're the exact same points in time but... more or less, yeah; it sounds like it.

[Pause.]

But if I choose differently, wouldn't I still be in the human world? [Waging war on God made it necessary for him to move to the demon world, but the other plans? Gin's, Atsuro's and Yuzu's should have Kouki stay in the human world.]

...Unless being the Messiah means living in heaven?

[Hmm... That's a good point.]

I think so. I don't think any of our other plans would have sent you out of the human world. [Except for maybe Amane's.. So he nods at the last bit.] Maybe. Do you think you would end up living there though? I mean, even when becoming the King of Bel, you were only going to the demon world for the duration of the war, right?

Not at the time. I was more worried about becoming the King of Bel as quickly as possible. [The time limit gave him no time to spare.]

But...yeah, I'll only be at the demon world for the war.

[Until he win or die. Until then, he spent months there with no other human company. But how long will the war take? And how much time in the human world will pass?]

Yeah, that's true... We didn't really have enough time to figure out where you would end up going. [Except of course, Naoya knew already and didn't bother to tell anyone until just moments before Kouki had to leave. Sigh.]

What if you decided to become the Messiah though? Would you have lived in heaven, or would you have just stayed there for a certain period of time like in the demon world?

[Assuming and hoping that Kouki lived through and won the war, he would end up coming back home. But would he just live in heaven and not come back otherwise..?]

[He loves you, Naoya, but sometimes you're just..gah.]

If I decided to be the Messiah? [He sometimes wonder about that. Leading mankind for God, even if it meant going against Naoya's wishes.] I would have to be on earth to 'lead mankind' for God. But living...where would a Messiah stay at?

[He can't help but think it would be awkward for his parents.]

[..On that note, how did things work out with his parents when he went to the demon world?]

I wonder... Well hey, if you wouldn't have been able to stay at home, you could've just stayed with me like we're doing here. [Haha~ I mean hey, Atsuro's alone at home anyway..]
