New Year's brings images of crowds, and songs, and fireworks; staying up til midnight and watching balls or bells being rung. But Luceti is a different time and place. Whether you're partying with friends or watching the sunrise, what are you doing today?

Falkner stares at Dodrio a little, nodding to himself. ] He looks to be really well cared for. You must be an exceptional trainer, Yellow.

[And then after giving Dody a pat..] Dody says it's nice to meet you though.

... Ah? [ He... "says" that? But Falkner didn't hear anything... ] It's... it's nice to meet you as well, Dody.

[Dody just... nods its heads around as some sort of weird response or something.]

[ Falkner will give a little nod in return. ] ... Forgive me for being blunt, Yellow, but how could you tell what Dody was thinking? There wasn't any sound or particular movement. [ Even as a bird specialist, it seems odd to him... ]

Huh? Oh, that's alright. [Not blunt at all! It's a perfectly legitimate question, really. And there doesn't seem to be any harm in telling Falkner.] It's an ability I got as one of the trainers of the Viridian Forest. Somehow I'm able to faintly hear the thoughts of Pokémon, as well as their emotions. So that's how I knew what Dody was saying without him actually speaking or moving.

That's... [ omg ] That's amazing! I've never heard of anything like that before!

Really? It's not very common, and I only know a couple of others who have that. It's really convenient though, even I don't understand how exactly it works. But it does wear me out if I use it too much..

I can definitely understand that. [ It sound surreal, but he can also vaguely understand parts of it. ] It sounds like a very effective way to communicate with your Pokemon, but I can't imagine how tiring it must be.

Yeah... On the bright side though, it's still easy to understand Pokemon just by listening to them and watching their movement. So I don't have to do it too much. [And it's not like people are constantly walking by injured or anything either.]
