New Year's brings images of crowds, and songs, and fireworks; staying up til midnight and watching balls or bells being rung. But Luceti is a different time and place. Whether you're partying with friends or watching the sunrise, what are you doing today?

You've always been a strong person. I admire that. But I can't help wondering, somewhere inside me, what you envision for the future here.

Sometimes I can't help but wonder too. [Oh, Luceti, whatever will become of it...] I'd like to bring an end to the experiments, the kidnappings, the fighting, all of it. At the same time, I'd want to somehow... keep the ability to travel here open, so that all worlds can still mingle. So that we don't forget what happened.

...Yeah, maybe I should just be wishing for free cable for everyone.

I don't think it can happen overnight, but... I'd hope eventually. It can't stay like this forever.

It has for this long. Part of the trouble of being here is that lack of change. It's abnormal, but it can't be denied, either.

If it's still like this in three, five years... I'd definitely wonder. Of course, it can always change for the worse, too, and I doubt anyone wants to consider that outcome.

There are people who've been here that long, in these conditions.

Those here the longest have been here a few years at most, right? Some things have changed in that time, but you're right, we've had no change in the overall... situation. We're still kept in this enclosure, and they still experiment on us...

Yes. Luceti is created to be stagnant. Even in the simple fact that time does not move in our worlds while we're away.

They really have it set up perfectly for their purposes...

That's alright. Even science and technology aren't perfect, and neither is magic. They still have weaknesses we can use to defeat them.

Then it's a matter of finding out how to exploit them.

We'll continue researching that. It's all we can do for the time being. [Even the missions might be an opportunity to learn more.]

Actually, yes, I have, as an opportunity to find out more about them and the world outside the barrier. Maybe we'll find more answers out there.
