New Year's brings images of crowds, and songs, and fireworks; staying up til midnight and watching balls or bells being rung. But Luceti is a different time and place. Whether you're partying with friends or watching the sunrise, what are you doing today?

Yep, the only one. Twilight was here for a while, but then she disappeared.

[And with all her things gone, it's safe to assume she's outta here.]

Anyway, I guess I'll start with Pinkie Pie, since I already mentioned her.

[She brings a hoof to her chin for a second. How to describe her...?

Well, that's easy!]

The first thing you oughta know about Pinkie is that she's random. Half the time she doesn't make a lot of sense, and she's really outgoing and... bouncy, I guess. She loves parties, sweets, and bursting into song for no reason.

[She snickers.]

But even if she is out there, she's a good friend, and Ponyville wouldn't be the same without her. Plus, her parties rock.

She sounds fun to be friends with. I'm sure there's never a dull moment with her around, too.

[wannabolt]

If there was, she'd do something to fix that in a heartbeat!

[Heh.]

And then there's Twilight. She's kind of an egghead and lives in the library, but she's great with magic, and even if I don't get her bookworm thing, she is pretty smart.

[subsultive]

She sounds like a pony I could get along with. [Bookworms unite and all.] Living in the library sounds nice too.

[wannabolt]

I guess it'd be okay, but I'm fine hanging in the clouds.

[subsultive]

Everything looks nicer from far away. [He'll admit to that much - even Naraka, with its dead marshes and crapsack qualities, looked prettier from Sky Castle.] Any other friends?

Yep! That's only two outta five of my best friends.

[And she won't even hesitate to continue.]

Fluttershy's a pegasus like me, but she likes hanging around n the ground and caring for animals. She's a pretty huge coward sometimes and definitely timid, but she's taken on a fully grown dragon all by herself, so I've gotta give her credit where it's due.

I don't think I'd call her a coward at all if she's taken on one of those. [It sounds terrifying--

Well, see, usually she's afraid of her own shadow, and she's easily startled. I guess it's just a part of what makes her Fluttershy.

But she can be brave when it really counts.

She just sounds easily startled. [He knows that feel, bro.] Who's next?

[wannabolt]

Well, there's Applejack. She's an earth pony like Pinkie Pie, so she doesn't have wings or anything, but she's still pretty tough. Definitely one of the top athletes in Ponyville.

[But not the top because that's so Dash's title. Really.]

She works on a farm called Sweet Apple Acres. Her family makes a living off of apple sales, and she's pretty good at baking. And corralling... and you oughta see her with a lasso.

A pony with... a lasso? [He's still getting used to this okay.] I'll take your word for it for now.

[wannabolt]

Yep, a lasso. She uses it for some sweet tricks and rounding up stampeding animals.

[Just think of her as a cowgirl... pony. It makes things easier.]

She sounds like she'd belong out east, with the gunslingers and the ranchers. [Dime novels are always accurate, right? Right.]

[wannabolt]

Well, we don't have a lot of guns in Equestria, but that sounds about right. Heck, she's got family down in Appleloosa, and that's out in the middle of the desert.

[subsultive]

I have a friend from out east. Her name's Iria, and she's from Sania Village... which is in the middle of a desert. She used to ride horses and herd cattle and stuff. I wonder if they'd get along?

[wannabolt]

Maybe, but she'd have to wrap her head around that horse riding thing first. I mean, she is a horse.

That's true. Do you have any kind of transportation? Like trains or airships...

[Like, he can see why they wouldn't but...]

[wannabolt]

Sure we do. We've got trains, hot air balloons, and carriages.

[Probably other forms of transportation as well. Equestria is huuge.]

I prefer flying, but I'll hitch a ride with my friends sometimes.

Do other ponies pull the carriages, or do you have an animal that does that?

[wannabolt]

Usually it's other ponies. I'd say somewhere around two to four, and they're usually earth ponies.

[Why ponies need ponies to get around? It's a mystery.]

It's the same in Naraka. They don't mind, do they?
