Summary: It's New Year's, and the people of Luceti have a lot to reflect upon, and to look forward to. And on a more meta level, new journal names.

New Year's brings images of crowds, and songs, and fireworks; staying up til midnight and watching balls or bells being rung. But Luceti is a different time and place. Whether you're partying with friends or watching the sunrise, what are you doing today?

Despite her resolve, Grune rests in Ginia's hold a little more than she would ordinarily. It takes her a little longer to pull away, as well, but eventually, she does.

"I hope he feels better soon."

Ginia lets Grune hold on for as long as she wishes, only moving back when she does.

"I do too. It, uh, doesn't seem right going into a new year... well." She smiles weakly and gives a light shrug.

"He's here if you wanted to say hi."

"Do you think I should?" she asks. "Jay said that maybe I should leave him alone for a little while until he's feeling better. Do you think he is?"

If anyone would know, it would be Ginia.

Ginia mulls over that for a little, looking around to see if she can find Giles in the outskirts of the crowd.

"Feeling better?" A small sigh. "I'm not sure. He seemed very anxious when I asked him if he was going to perform."

"Did he?" Was he going to tell one of his stories?

She sighs quietly. "Then maybe I shouldn't talk to him right now."

Ginia sighs as well and gives Grune's hand an apologetic squeeze.

"I'm sorry. If I see him again, should I let him know you're here?"

She squeezes her hand back, grateful for the comfort.

"Yes, that would be a good idea. Then he can come see me if he wants to." She smiles. It's tired around the edges. "Thank you, Ginia."

"I'll do that, I promise. You're welcome, Grune." She puts on a smile, trying her best to remain cheerful for the sake of her friend. "I really hope he comes around soon."

And she does her best to be cheerful right back, so Ginia doesn't worry. "Oh, I'm sure he will. He probably needs just a little more time to himself."

And then, after that, they can go back to being like family again.

"Time we have no shortage of here," she murmurs quietly, a little more to herself as she catches a glimpse of Giles in the crowd. But then he's gone again, ducking away for some reason or another. Yes, there's no shortage of time, but patience? Another matter.

"Well. Why don't we get some food? Sanji and his staff did such a wonderful job cooking and baking."

She doesn't see Giles in the crowd, and so her smile is a little firmer than before. "Oh, that would be very nice. I'm sure everyone worked very hard on making a nice meal for us."

Ginia will take Grune's hand and hold onto it. For support, for friendship, for not losing her in the crowd. "Then let's go eat."

Grune threads her fingers through Ginia's. The contact is enough to draw a true smile from her. "Charge!"

She might not be putting her fist in the air with her usual energy, but she's certainly still giving it a good go.
