Summary: IT'S A SUMMER PARTY
Rating: Worksafe, I reckon!
It's cold out there today, isn't it? Sure, it's not snowing but once you get into the Battle Dome, it'll be comfortably warmer. Warmer, not warm. Follow the tiny paper arrows and you'll probably find yourself in, well...summer!

It certainly looks convincing enough (a pool, a volleyball court, deck chairs, everything that you'd think you'd find at a pool party) and feels convincing enough (take off that coat! Aren't you hot?) so why not not step in? The barbecue's sizzling and there's some nice cold drinks at the cooler.

C'mon in, the water's awesome!

Grune beams as her friend approaches. It isn't a party until she's seen Ginia, usually hard at work.

"Oh, yes. This is a wonderful party! Are you having fun, too?"

"I am. It's so nice being able to have a bit of sun in the dead of winter." Granted, it's artificial sun but it feels real enough.

"That's a very cute bikini."

"Thank you!" She really likes it, too. It has flowers on it! "Yours is very nice, too. Are you going to go swimming a little later?"

Swimming is very fun...she thinks. Has she done it before?

And there is nothing more perfect for Grune than flowers. Besides sunshie, smiles, rainbows, bunnies...

"Maybe a small dip later. I suppose it would be a shame to not do a bit of swimming."

"Yes, the water is nice and warm," she agrees. She hasn't gone swimming herself just yet, but she's dipped her feet in a few times.

"Selphie did a great job with a pool. It's absolutely perfect."

She smiles and gestures toward the food table. "Had a chance to eat yet?"

As always, Grune treats this question as if it requires a great deal of thought.

"Hmm...."

Ginia laughs, realizing she should know better than to ask that.

"Come on, Grune, let's get something to eat. Roji brought over some nice fruit kabobs and--" she's about to mention the popsicles, but no, no, best not give people something to stare at. "--they're really good."

Ginia is a very intelligent woman. Popsicles would only end extremely badly.

"Oh, that does sound good," Grune says, unaware of what a good friend Ginia is being right now. "Is Roji one of your friends?"

Ginia is an excellent friend who cares the most about Grune's well-being and the safety of everyone around them. Thankfully it is not Alice who is out, because while Alice is a good friend, she would offer Grune a popsicle and enjoy one too.

"He is. Back when I was in Community House Seven, he was my neighbor. We often cooked together."

That gets Grune's attention. "What kinds of things did you bake?"

"Mostly pastries and stuff like that. Cookies, muffins, cake. We made some other meals now and then. I think you two would get along."

Grune of course agrees with Ginia's assessment--but then again, she'd think the same about absolutely everyone.

"I hope I can meet him soon. It sounds like we would have a lot of fun together!"

"I'll have to see if I can find him later and introduce you two."

"I'd like that very much." She always welcomes the opportunity to make a new friend.

And speaking of which.... "Have you made any new friends out of the New Feathers yet?"

"Yes, I have! Adele LeBlanc, very nice woman. She's living with us now."

This is news to Grune. "Oh, you have another friend living with you? I should go meet her!"

"You should. I think you two will get along quite nicely." Well, she knows Grune will definitely like her because Grune likes everyone, and even if her forgetful nature requires patience not everyone has, who can truly dislike Grune? "We have a lot in common. It's quite nice."

Walter, apparently. But that's neither here nor there.

"Oh, it's good when you have lots in common with your friends. Then you can do all kinds of things together!"

"I'm planning on teaching her how to cook. She claims it's impossible, I'm stubborn and determined."

"Oh, nothing is impossible when you put your mind to it," Grune says firmly...or at least as firmly as she can ever manage. "I'm sure you'll both do a very good job."
