Who: Schuldig, Farfarello, anyone who comes near the Community Buildings
What: It can be Hallucination Tiem naow!
When: A day or two after the hunter event ends.
Where: The general vicinity of Community Building 1 and 2
Summary: Wing regeneration is making Schuldig feverish and delusional. And not in great control of his powers. Which means he's sharing his fever dreams and hallucinations with everyone in the Community Buildings.
Rating: PG-13 to start because, um, Schwarz.

Schuldig is tossing a lot more in his sleep now that his wing is growing back. There's a fine sheen of sweat on his skin as his fever climbs higher, painful dreams and the whisper of other thoughts making him restless. The loosening of the reins on his power is a slow process, spreading outward from him gradually as it slips more and more from his control.

Farfarello, of course, is the first one it touches.

Pain, terror, the glint of light from glasses and sharp metal. 'I don't want to be here! I'd rather hear the shouting than stay here!'

Farfarello puts down his journal and sighs. The last stanzas of Canto I can wait. He's been expecting something like this since Schuldig's temperature first started going up. It's happened before, when he had the flu and a couple other times injuries got infected. Plus that time in Amsterdam that he had a bad reaction to the pot smoke--that time sucked.

The nightmare doesn't particularly bother Farfarello--if anything it'd be a turn-on if the pain and terror belonged to someone other than his partner--but when Schuldig's powers go out of control Bad Shit can start happening. He'd learned that the hard way the first time he was around for this--he'd ended up mute for a week after Schuldig fucked up the speech centre of his brain for him. Crawford had been the one to take care of these situations at that time, and he'd been late. Now Schuldig trusts Farfarello enough that he can help, too, at least.

Picking up the journal again, though leaving it closed, Farfarello gets up and goes over to the bed, nudging Schuldig to the side a little and curling up beside him. Physical contact helps make his presence seem more real than the dreams. 'Got your back, aibou.'

Farfarello's presence at least eases the building need to lash out, to strike at whatever is near him in a blind attempt to stop the pain. His eyes open for a moment, the usually sharp and brilliant blue dazed and unfocused. He doesn't really SEE his teammate, but he doesn't need to see him to know he's there. The familiar twisted order of Farfarello's mind is a better assurance of his presence than sight could ever be.

Farfarello's presence can only ease the violence, though, not return his control of his powers. Soon enough, both Community Buildings are engulfed in the projections of Schuldig's pain and fear, the hallucinations a mix of pure delusion and actual memories.

...The memories of Rosenkreuz tend to be worse than what's solely a product of Schuldig's fevered imagination.

There's nothing Farfarello can do about the memories, so he doesn't concern himself with that. He just needs to keep Schuldig from destroying half the minds within range, including Farfarello's own. Most importantly Farfarello's own. Everyone else can end up braindead for all he cares, but he likes being reasonably functional.

So far, so good.

((Interaction with Schuldig and Farfarello is OPTIONAL. This post is an open playground. Torture your pups with Schu's hallucinations, scramble around trying to find out what's going on, do whatever. You can try to lynch the telepath if you want, but he has a really mean guard dog. :D Have fun with it!))

The Ferines girl was shaken, and all she really wanted to do was run home and find Senel and hug him so tightly... But she couldn't do that right now. Stella always held the well-being of others before her own, and now wasn't an exception.

"Lenalee!" She shouted as she moved forward and grabbed the other girl's shoulders. She echoed herself, louder this time, "LENALEE!" Stella tightened her grip, and then, once more and this time with a whispered apology, she brought her hand back and shot it forward for another slap.

[identity profile] lapis-waltz.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
She shifted at the sound of her name, and that shift was enough that when the slap came, instead of striking her cheek it caught her in the eye. It was more than enough of a shock to snap her out of it. Despite the tears welling up in that eye, she smiled gratefully at Stella.

With a long, shaking breath, she got to her feet again, biting her lip when her left leg protested the activitiy and weight. It hurt, but real pain kept her from falling into the memory of pain.

[identity profile] goldenfirefly.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
Stella wasn't able to stop her hand in time when Lenalee shifted, so she cringed once her slap didn't hit its original mark, almost as if the pain was her own. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." She repeated even when Lenalee smiled at her. She trailed off, though, when the other girl stood up again.

Stella followed suit, and she supported the other girl by wrapping one arm around her waist and bringing Lenalee's arm around her shoulders. "Lean on me." She whispered to her, and despite the bloodied patches on the ground that was slowly started to fade, Stella kept herself walking at a steady pace.

"Don't apologize. You had to." It was a struggle to force even that much sound out of her throat, and it was so ragged and small, and it hurt...

Instead of thanking her out loud, Lenalee just accepted the help, leaning on Stella but trying to hold herself up as much as possible. She kept her eyes on the ground until she was sure she had control of herself and wasn't going to cry.

[identity profile] goldenfirefly.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
There was a lump in Stella's throat, yet she kept swallowing it back. She wouldn't cry. Not yet. Not until she was in a place and with someone where she could cry.

Soon, Stella noticed that there was nothing left from the darkness that had enveloped her mind. Looking around, there was no sign of blood or torture. It was the same ground she had walked on earlier while heading to Lloyd's.

Lloyd...

She'll find another way to his home.

After a long silence spent walking, Lenalee raised her head and looked at Stella. Having some experience in the area, she could tell that the older girl wanted to cry. Now that they were away from it, from the darkness, her cheek was throbbing and her eye watered. But she managed a shaky smile anyway.

"Y-You can...cry, if...you want to. I won't say anything."

[identity profile] goldenfirefly.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
That little comment caused Stella to widen her eyes and glance at the girl beside her. The sight of the red print on her cheek as well as her eye caused her to look away just as quickly and stare down at the ground.

She still supported the girl, yet she closed her eyes and let her tears fall.

[identity profile] lapis-waltz.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 07:40 am (UTC)(link)
Still smiling gently, Lenalee shifted her stance, turning Stella's support of her into a hug. It served as both thanks and, if she'd accept it, support in return.

Her own memories threatened to come after her again, but Lenalee gave them a mental kick. She was good at not thinking about it, and would remain so.

[identity profile] goldenfirefly.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 07:44 am (UTC)(link)
When Stella felt that she couldn't support herself, she always turned to others to help her. It was usually Senel, but this time...

She brought her other arm around to hold onto Lenalee tight and bury her face in her shoulder, her own hitching with held back sobs. She was usually good at keeping her own memories back, but having them forced out in the open was just making her experience it once again.

"No, no," She thought to herself, "Now's not the time, I need to get to Lloyd and his father... They need me!"

Yet she couldn't get the rest of her body to move.

[identity profile] lapis-waltz.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 07:53 am (UTC)(link)
Whatever she saw must have been terrible.

But she'd told Stella she wouldn't say anything, and she was going to keep her word. Lightly, so as not to get the blood from her palms all over Stella's clothing, she rubbed the older girl's back. She was trying to be comforting.

[identity profile] goldenfirefly.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
It was... soothing. Stella could already feel some of the weight on her shoulders lift away as she held onto Lenalee, but along with that came realization. She's always hated to feel like she was dumping her troubles on others, and soon, she pulled back, immediately lifting up a hand to wipe at her eyes.

"Th-thank you." She muttered through a small smile, though even as she kept her hand on her cheek, the tears flowed as if they were never stopped. "I'm... sorry about that. A-and... I really need to... I was heading somewhere to help a friend. His father was injured, and..."

[identity profile] lapis-waltz.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 08:23 am (UTC)(link)
"I understand." She let go of Stella but didn't move back, in case the older girl became upset again. "Would you...like me to g--" Her voice locked, and one hand went to her throat as she frowned. Waiting a minute, she swallowed hard and then started again. "...go with you to your friend's?"

[identity profile] goldenfirefly.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 08:52 am (UTC)(link)
Stella reached out at first, concerned... but then she dropped her hand once she was sure Lenalee was alright, and she widened her smile as much as she could with tears still flowing. "I-If... you'd like to."

[identity profile] lapis-waltz.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 09:03 am (UTC)(link)
With a small smile, Lenalee nodded. She wanted to say several things, really, but there was no way her aching throat was going to let her do that. But if Stella was going where she thought she was going, it wasn't that far from Lenalee's home, either.

[identity profile] goldenfirefly.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 09:08 am (UTC)(link)
The usual route to Lloyd's house was... blocked off, to say the least. So, Stella took a moment to figure out another way. They could go around... For however long that darkness spread. She only hoped Lloyd and his father weren't suffering from this.

That thought only caused her to want to hurry, so she looked around, finally able to wipe her tears away and stop them. "It's this way..." She said in a soft tone, and she took Lenalee's wrist to lead the way. If they were going to walk into that again, she at least wanted to make sure that Lenalee was close by.

[identity profile] lapis-waltz.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 09:15 am (UTC)(link)
She nodded again, trying to walk as smoothly as possible to hide the limp. It hadn't been this bad earlier...she must have done something to it, back there.

Not really knowing where they were headed, Lenalee followed Stella without so much as another word.
