Movie Marathon!

Who: Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Arsene Lupin III, Ami Mizuno, Adele Leblanc, Leonardo, Gambit, and anyone else who has the desire to show up.
What: Star Wars Movie Marathon
When: February 21st to whenever its done
Where: Luke and Ben's place
Summary: Luke and Ben have decided to just end the constant cycle of confusion and actually WATCH the Star Wars movies. There is soda (gasp!) popcorn, canned tea, and all sorts of other movie related nonsense.
Rating: PG, same as the movies (Could get PG13? doubtful)

Pre-Marathon Preparations

[Luke has spent the majority of the day getting things together for this event. He wanted it to be more than merely a movie marathon, but a way for everyone to forget their troubles from the week before. He has spent a fair amount of time piecing together the things that are "essential" for a movie marathon to have. Soda, Popcorn, Candy, and various other things including a wide array of home-prepared snacks, and as many Galactic Foodstuffs as he is able to reproduce in Luceti. The room has been rearranged and a fair bit of extra seating gathered from somewhere. All that really remains is for people to show up and for them to get started]

[Ami, early as always, makes her way over to Luke.]

Excuse me. If there's anything left to be done, I'll help you if you'd like me to.

[He turns and smiles, gesturing around to the various chairs]

I think everything is pretty much ready. Obi-Wan and I have been getting it all together for some time now, so really, just have a seat and relax. Try some of the food. I managed to synthesize some stuff from home.

And I appreciate you coming. I wouldn't feel right about watching the story of my past without good friends around.

I think it's brave. If there was a movie about me... I don't think I would want anyone to watch it.

[She lets the words pass for simple shyness; but there are things in her past, things in the darkness, best left buried.]

I feel somewhat obligated to. It's apparently something that so many people here have seen that I feel compelled to watch it. I think, at least Ms. Leblanc, Lupin, and Gambit have all seen the film before. But I wouldn't choose to watch it alone, and I know Ben feels the same way."

[Thankfully, Luke's greatest darkness is well AFTER Return of the Jedi ends]

Maybe... think of it like a movie based on you. Not a movie about everything that truly happens.

True enough. Though, I'm certain I'm not the only person of importance in the film. Leia. Han. Chewie. Threepio. Artoo. A film about me...well...it wouldn't be complete without my friends and family, all of whom are very dear to me.

I'd feel the same. [Though she still wouldn't be comfortable with her friends watching it.

Maybe that makes her somewhat deceptive, wanting to hide the bad parts of herself.]

Well, I appreciate you coming. Obi-Wan and I also want this party to be a good time, so that maybe everyone can forget about the last week. Having fun and celebrating companionship tends to heal quite a lot.

[She nods slightly, and makes a vaguely agreeable sound.]

Could you tell me anything about it? No, nevermind. I'd like to be surprised.

I think thats why we're here. To see these movies and enjoy ourselves, right?

Well, I really can't say whats in the films anyway. Supposedly, its the story of my life, but who knows? Someone mentioned to me that they had been changed several times, due to the editor.

I've heard there was an anime about Sailor V in another world. I suppose it wouldn't have been exactly like her life, either.

[A puzzled look, unfamiliar terminology detected...]

Whats an anime? And is Sailor V one of your friends?

She was a famous ally of justice in my world. The anime is an animated TV series. Like the movies, but just for short periods of time every week instead of a few hours right away.

[Basket? Check. Cognac should Lupin show, or to rush up and offer to him later, check. Bag with journal, coat, and...apparently her pointe shoes and dance gear. Lovely. She'd forgotten to leave them at the house in her haste to get here on time. Adele is laden and jittery and muzzy and trying so very hard to ignore what floor she was on and to keep herself focused on not thinking about the past week. She knocks and stares at the door, glances back down the hall to the stairs, then back to the door. This wouldn't end well. There was no way for it to end well and perhaps it'd be better if she didn't stay.

If not for the knock she could still go home. She had said she'd be here but even with the sedative she feels tense, anxious, and it wouldn't get any better as the night went on...

Perhaps she could just drop of the basket and then go home.]

[With a smile, Luke answers the door before the good doctor can flee. You don't get off that easy, Adele. Not with TWO Jedi wanting you to show up. He'll just sweep you inside with a smile...and take your basket...]

I'm glad you could make it Adele! Please, make yourself at home. There are snacks all around, and we've gotten lots of extra chairs

I said I would come, so I did, and a LeBlanc, etc, etc, etc,. If you have not heard it from me, you have probably heard it from someone else already at least once. [Though she really would be more comfortable walking away from it this time. Still, she walks in and blinks around the apartment, remembering well enough to explain.]

Beignets. Helios helped me, or rather, he did most of the work. [And now she couldn't leave, because they were three feet from the door and after that you're committed. Damn.]

Well come in. Its getting chilly, and we can't have the doctor catching a cold.

[He can feel she's uncomfortable, but this party was partly to help keep her mind off her troubles. She's not getting off that easy!]

I typically do not catch colds- and now that I have said it, it is going to happen. Lovely.

[She huffs a faint laugh and shakes her head, following along anyway. It was...easier to ignore where she was, exactly, when the stairs were no longer in view.]

Well, we'll see. Best not to tempt fate, though yes? Besides, Ben would be sad if you didn't stay. Plus, you came all this way.

[This is Luke, not taking know for an answer!]

So long as I've tea and keep myself warm, it should not be a problem-

[Damn. He was good. And smiling while he says it too. Adele has to hand it to Luke, he is a clever, devious, and utterly friendly individual.]

...You are right, I would not wish to upset Ben. [More than I already have.]. As you will, Monsieur Skywalker, I shall stay.

Of course you wouldn't. Now, inside with you. And lets put on our party faces. You're with friends. No moping!

[Yes, this is yet ANOTHER lecture. A Jedi is telling you to LIGHTEN UP!]

This face is my party face. I do not have a moping face, LeBlancs do not mope. We do, however, party.

[She chuckles and makes her way further inside. This would not be so terrible. It was a relaxed atmosphere, the films weren't...all terrible. And the sofas look quite cozy.]
