Movie Marathon!

Who: Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Arsene Lupin III, Ami Mizuno, Adele Leblanc, Leonardo, Gambit, and anyone else who has the desire to show up.
What: Star Wars Movie Marathon
When: February 21st to whenever its done
Where: Luke and Ben's place
Summary: Luke and Ben have decided to just end the constant cycle of confusion and actually WATCH the Star Wars movies. There is soda (gasp!) popcorn, canned tea, and all sorts of other movie related nonsense.
Rating: PG, same as the movies (Could get PG13? doubtful)

[Gambit is fashionably late in showing up, but when he does, he has a big plasticware container in tow. Movie night may not be the best for bringing along an actual dinner dish, but hey, he figures if anyone is hungry for something beyond snacks, he's got it.

Although he's definitely a little surprised to see the turnout. Huh.]

[Ah, a newcomer. He's seen you around, in all likelihood, but he's never spoken to Monsieur LeBeau until riiiight... now.]

"Hello, there."

[Well, if it isn't Obi-Wan Kenobi. There's a slight flicker of surprise in Gambit's eyes before he grins in return.]

Hey. Didn't mean to be late, but this - [he hefts up the dish] - took a li'l longer'n I was expectin'. Not too late for the party, non?

[averybadfeeling]

"Not at all. We haven't yet begun the first film."

[He bows respectfully.]

"Obi-Wan Kenobi. And you are?"

[Balancing the dish one-handed, he returns that bow.]

Remy LeBeau. Some people call me Gambit. Nice t'meet you.

[averybadfeeling]

"An honor. Which should I call you?"

[kineticcajun]

[Shrug.] Whichever you want. I t'ink mos' people around here stick wit' "Gambit", though.

[Go go superhero codenames.]

"Gambit it shall be, then."

[He gives Gambit a friendly clap on the shoulder and moves off to mingle some more.]

Ma Petit Chou-Chou!

[It was soft enough that, well, no one else would hear, Adele wasn't quite that offcenter. But it was pitched for Gambit to hear, and if he's not paying attention a petite surgeon is going to attach herself to him on one side, giving him a quick squeeze.]

[Gambit has just enough time to get a better balance on the dish so that he doesn't drop it and then--

-- "ma petit chou-chou"? He hasn't been called that in years. And just like the last time he was called it and hugged, he's already squirming.

He'll keep his voice just as low as Adele's, although his tone is joking.]

When'd you turn into my tante Mattie?

When I took my medication? It makes me a little. Off. If I'm not that high.

[She blinks and looks up at him, puzzled. Ah, that must have been- well it wasn't that uncommon an nickname for a child, true, but she'd picked it because. Well. Red Cabbage, purple armor. She shrugs, smooths her hair out of her eyes and steps off to the side so Remy won't drop his dish.]

...Is that Jambalaya?

[It's more or less that Tante Mattie has probably called him absolutely any odd nickname in English or French at some point in his life. And so, he just grins at her, albeit it's a little uncertain at first. Hugs and affectionate outpourings make him fidgety.]

Oui. I figured if anyone was too hungry for jus' snacks, it might come in handy. 'Cause I know some popcorn ain't gonna fill me up, for one.

I brought beignets. [She huffs a soft laugh and pats his back, looking over to the array of snack foods. She was a little less jittery, now, and a great deal less somber. She didn't have the mind to be frustrated or anything other than mildly fuzzy and a little over talkative.]

Helios made them- well. He made me help, and I swear they're edible. They even taste like they should, and I had one over an hour ago and haven't died. So they're the first thing I've helped make that hasn't made someone ill.

Beignets? [Adele, you are the greatest person. Ever. If there is one thing Gambit actually can't make, it's beignets, and it bothers the hell out of him. Mattie tried to teach him. Credit where it's due. But it never stuck.

And so, he's laughing and smiling at that description.]

Glad they're not makin' you hurt, 'cause I'd be eatin' 'em anyway.

When I was talking Ben down from his caffeine high he mentioned a fondness for Danish, I explained that while Danish are lovely Beignets are truly a superior pastry, and sought to prove my point tonight. I think between the two of us we should have a convert to the wonders of Cajun cooking soon enough, yes?

[And that smile, that made her relax. Last week, in a word, sucked. But this one? Looked to be survivable. Oh. Wait. Oh hell.]

...Have you? Met Ben, that is. [Say no. Please say no. Say you have mentioned nothing.]

Doc, I can convert anyone to the wonders of Cajun cookin'. But those beignets'll make it go a lot faster.

[And oh, she's asking now. Wolfish smile. He hasn't said a damn thing (yet), but that doesn't mean he won't let her think he may have.]

Met him on my way in.

Of that, I have no doubt Chou-chou. [A half smirk before she blinks at his grin. That. That is a smile she knows well.]

Merde- What did you say? You said something. Or implied something. Or gave a- a- a significant look and I do not know why you and Lupin think anything of it- [She covers her mouth with a hand to silence herself and instead, glares.]

Good evening Gambit. I'm glad you could make it! Please, come in, make yourself at home

[Look at Skywalker, being such a genki host!]

[He can't help a small grin at that. Genki host indeed.]

Merci. Good to see you too. Anywhere I should put the food? [Hefting up that dish here.]

Just set it down on the back table, unless its something that needs heating. If thats the case, toss it in the oven, that should keep it warm. It smells good, what is it?

Oven it is, then. [Because he is confident in his cooking, but letting stuff go cold just isn't how he rolls. It'd probably still taste good, but still.]

An' it's jambalaya. Good ol' home-style cookin'. Not quite a snack, but if anybody else's as hungry as I am, it'll come in handy.

Alright, I'll leave it to the chef to decide where it should go then. I probably should have thought more about real food, but I suppose its too late for that now. I'm glad you thought ahead.

[Soft chuckle.] No problem. Jus' hopin' nobody's too sensitive 'bout spicy food, 'cause that might be a problem if they're wantin' any of it.

[It isn't Cajun cooking if it isn't spicy, if you ask him.]

Spicy? Absolutely not problem at all for me, at least. I'll leave a note, just in case. Whats in this anyway? It looks fantastic!

Merci. An' it's got shrimp, sausage, peppers, rice... an' a whole lotta spices. Guess you could call it a fam'ly recipe. [Tante Mattie's, at least.]
