Movie Marathon!

Who: Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Arsene Lupin III, Ami Mizuno, Adele Leblanc, Leonardo, Gambit, and anyone else who has the desire to show up.
What: Star Wars Movie Marathon
When: February 21st to whenever its done
Where: Luke and Ben's place
Summary: Luke and Ben have decided to just end the constant cycle of confusion and actually WATCH the Star Wars movies. There is soda (gasp!) popcorn, canned tea, and all sorts of other movie related nonsense.
Rating: PG, same as the movies (Could get PG13? doubtful)

[Adele is content to curl up in a blanket on one of the cushier looking sofas, mug of coffee in one hand. For the most part she's settled into a calmer, more positive mood, any anxiety caused by the floor she's on entirely negated by the company available. Surrounded by friends and acquaintances, she lets herself enjoy a little peace of mind for the duration of the movie.]

[Lupin is also on the sofa, lounging languidly with a mug of coffee in hand. It was nice, chilling with a bunch of people, but he had more than a few thoughts about the movie...]

...I can't believe they went with CG. It's gotten much nicer since Tron, but I liked the animatronics!

They felt more grounded, yes? It seems too stiff and wooden, with the CG.

I know, right? Bad, bad production decision there, Lucas! Why??

[fleurdesel]

I cannot say. It does not make much sense to me, especially when I think he was quoted as saying that 'less is more' in instances such as this.

[She's not laughing at you Lupin. Cross her heart. She's just giggling a little because her blanket is tickling her nose. Seriously. That's all.]

[Have a blank thief stare at this new performance. He's wondering which will be more interesting to watch--the trainwreck of a movie, or the subdued blond die laughing.]

Episode 1: The Phantom Menace!

[And here we find Obi-Wan, sitting beside her and watching the opening credits attentively.

... And the opening music. My. How blaring.]

[Every once and awhile she peeks over to Ben, gauging his reaction to the film. How accurate it was, how grating he found the writing, or...how it might distress him to watch his master die again.]

[At first, he does not react, aside from perhaps a slight softening of the eyes at his conversation with Qui-Gon, until one scene...

The scene that breaks his resolve, that draws a narrowing of the eyes and a hard frown...

The scene so horrifying, even the hardened Jedi Master could not bear to see what it contained...

Jar Jar...]

[The appearance of the universally loathed Gungan pulls a wince from Adele. Now that. That she can't imagine to have been any more pleasant in person. She very carefully looks over to Ben, notes the frown, and spends half a moment considering what it was she should do. Without any other option she shifts a bit, pulls an arm free of her blankets, and reaches down to give his hand a quick squeeze.]

[A surprised glance at the hand, then up at Adele. Smiles a bit and pats her hand with his free one, then turns back to the movie.

He continues to watch without much comment. Not a big talker, apparently. The scene on Tatooine, seems to evoke a bizarre reaction. Did... did he just...

... an angel?

He laughs. Suddenly. Rather sharply, even.]

[Satisfied that she'd done...something. To aid with is ire she turns her attention back to the film, only peeking over now and again. For the most part all seems well, other than the odd poke and giggle because of Remy on her other side. So she's gradually inching her way closer to Ben. It's to escape Gambit. Really.

The laugh, though, startles her. She's never heard him laugh quite like that. All she does is offer him an inquisitive look.]

[He's too busy watching the movie- a sigh and a shake of the head, smiling, at Qui-Gon's reckless wagers- and throughout the race, he seems more amused than surprised. Oh, yes, he knew how impressive Anakin could be when he had a mind to- not to impress people, but to truly achieve something. That was when he was at his best.

His next real reaction, however, isn't until on the ship, when Anakin gives Padme the japor snippet. He frowns for a moment, eyes widening slightly, and then simply adopts a somewhat saddened expression.]

"...oh."

[Lupin is also watching Obi-Wan...

[For all his own curiosity, Luke is almost as intrigued by how Obi-Wan will react. He really has no idea what is about to happen, save for that it will involve his old friend in his youth, and that somehow it will lead into the Clone Wars. The scrolling text and blaring music are drowned out by his own thoughts.

When a much younger version of Kenobi appears on the screen, Luke's eyes flicker momentarily over to Ben to see if there is any reaction. From time to time, he checks back, definitely curious...until finally the other Jedi does react.

It doesn't take Luke very long to realize why. He'd encountered VERY few Gungans in his travels, and there had been rumors that Palpatine had slaughtered the race during the Imperial Consolidation. But this...creature. Binks...was INCREDIBLY irritating]

I can see why you disliked that Gungan, Ben.

"I did not... dislike him. I simply found his lack of self-control and moderation to be... distracting."

[And perhaps he could have done with a muzzle.

No. No, he did not deserve to be muzzled. Jar-Jar, for all of his faults, was an honest, well-meaning individual, and he would have gone to great lengths to aid Obi-Wan if he had asked it. He should honor and respect that.]

[Gambit manages to behave himself through the beginning of the movie. Honestly. But you can't expect that to last. About halfway through, waiting with impeccable sense of Horrible Timing for a quiet moment, he goes for the kill.

And by "kill" we mean, poking Adele right in the ticklish spot on her side.

And then acting like he hasn't done a thing.]

[Doubly distracted by the film, and Ben's reaction to said film, Adele doesn't notice the growing mischief in Remy's eyes. She is utterly vulnerable because, well. She forgot that Remy is Remy.

So when the poke comes she's unprepared. And a sharp, bright laugh is pulled from her. She clamps a hand over her mouth, turns to glare at Remy, and scooches an inch in the other direction. She drops her hand to mouth one word. Eyebrows.]

[kineticcajun]

[You keep threatening about those eyebrows, Adele. He does not think that you will really make good on it.

He assumes an innocently curious look and shrugs back at her. He's done nothing, ma'am.]

[fleurdesel]

[She is onto you Gambit. She inches a little farther away and returns her focus to the movie, none too subtly pulling one of the pillows Lupin had thrown at her and setting it between them. There.]

[Oh, a pillow. That'll totally hold him back. There's no way he can--

--not. Adele, he can rob a man blind and pick every pocket without anyone ever noticing. But he sits still again for a while, waiting until she's probably starting to forget...

And then pokes again, finding the perfect path around the pillow.]

[Adele didn't honestly think the pillow would prevent further poking. Just that perhaps, it would give her some kind of warning. A rustle. A shift in pressure.

...

she was entirely mistaken. Another poke, another bitten off and muffled giggle, and another almost murderous glare.

Not the time Rems. Really.]
