Brrr, it's freezing!
Who: Anyone around the village
What: Freezing rain!
When: The 22nd and the 23rd
Where: All around the village
Summary: The weather takes a turn for the worse as freezing rain comes down across the village. Don't slip and fall!
Rating: F for freezing
Rain begins falling early morning on the 22nd. By 9 AM, there's a good layer of ice as it continues to rain on and off throughout the next two days, sometimes drizzling, sometimes coming down hard for a few minutes. By the evening of the 23rd, it stops raining. Ice buildup is between one and two inches (2.54 cm to 5.08 cm), enough to put some strain on trees, break some branches, and even knock out electricity in some areas despite the lack of any visible powerlines.
((Have at it! Also if you want to use this thread for any post-storm clean up - melting ice, clearing away fallen branches, patching things up - go for it!))

HAHAHAHA]There are others in the forest, so there's no problem. It's not like I'm hurting them. What's it matter to you?
no subject
It doesn't matter to me! But what if one of those other people is already some guardian here, you might be taking someone else's job. [...He wonders if Chien would even care.]
no subject
[Hopping out of the tree now, since he's shown Caius how to do it he's expecting the other to do it too.]
If you see any animals hanging out on the heavy branches, make sure you get them off before you knock it down.
no subject
[Fine fine, clambering up into the tree to take care of the branches there. Gently shooing a squirrel off onto another branch before seeing to it.]
I wouldn't knock a branch down with an animal on it. They probably know to move if the branch is going to come down though.
no subject
And how would you like someone taking down the branch you're on without warning?
no subject
I wouldn't be on a branch in the first place. [He says whilst hanging on to the trunk of a tree and breaking off branches.]
no subject
No point in delaying the helping of animals though, so Chien puts it off for another day and instead climbs another tree to help out for the animal's sake.]
The animals back home could take care of themselves too, but they couldn't talk to humans or get them to stay away. So the humans took over their jungle and ruined them. That's why I was the protector there.
no subject
Snapping off another branch and dropping it to the floor.]
Somehow I don't think there's anyone here who wants to take over the forests so the animals would probably be fine without you.
no subject
Not if everyone's like you and kicks trees to get down branches.
no subject
[No, you shut up Chien. Stop taking cheap jabs at him.]
no subject
Because I caught you at it! You would've kept doing it if I hadn't said something! How much help did you think you were being kicking trees and letting branches fall down!? [This is less of fighting and an actual, angry question. Get your fuzzy act together beastboy.]
no subject
A lot of help actually, seeing as I've seen people end up being clobbered over the head by branches falling out of trees because of the ice. Better to bring them down early than wait for someone to get hurt. [Even if it was... Him who was clobbered by a branch. But yes, angry question, angry discussion, totally fine.]
no subject
And kicking the trees is supposed to help them avoid falling onto people? [Seriously dude. That's not helping.]
no subject
Well yeah! As long as I watch out and make sure no one else is around then kicking the trees is fine. The branches fall down, I avoid getting hit and no one gets hurt. [Like all his plans this one is equally wonderful and awful. He's trying to think of other people's safety and it's the thought that counts.]
no subject
There's not a guarantee that a branch won't fall and hit you! Or that there's not someone-- sleeping in the tree or something like that! Animals too, which is why my way is better.
no subject
I'm careful enough, if any branch comes my way I'll just avoid it or break it before it hits me! And who sleeps outside in the trees in this weather? I could understand it if you were camping but the ice right now is really dangerous like this.
no subject
They could be frozen to the tree!
no subject
...Frozen to the tree? Seriously? [ :| ] ...You're talking about the animals right?
no subject
Yeah, and whoever's stupid enough to sleep in a tree from the village. [Sooo not him nope he sleeps in tree holes...] They'd need to be warmed up quick.
no subject
I don't think there's anyone that stupid to sleep out one some tree branch when it gets this cold and dangerous. [But hey there might be someone out there like that. Someone who sleeps in tree holes perhaps.] Too bad I don't have a blanket or fire magic or something to heat them up fast enough, if that even happened.
no subject
Also let's go for his first shot at Caius' beast form. Look, he's been good about it.] You could just hug them. All that fur'd warm them up quick. I don't think they'd appreciate a wet dog smell on them though.
no subject
Hey, watch it, I'm not a dog!! [Don't even go near the d-word man. Just don't.] I'm not even wet anyway, like it would matter! [Totally starting an argument whilst clinging to a tree trunk and shaking branches. Yeah.]
no subject
The snow's wet and the ice's wet when it melts, so you're wet! And you're so a dog, you look just like one! A walking, talking dog! [This is the best place to start arguments, bro. They have sticks they can throw at each other too.]
no subject
Shut up you shrew, I'm not that wet, barely enough to be called wet! [Awkwardly shimmying around this tree so he can nudge Chien. So much for being not-friends-not-enemies or whatever.] And I am NOT a dog!!
no subject
Nudging huh? How about a kick?] I know dogs when I see them, I lived with two of them! You're definitely wolfy looking!
