Summary: The weather takes a turn for the worse as freezing rain comes down across the village. Don't slip and fall!
Rating: F for freezing

Rain begins falling early morning on the 22nd. By 9 AM, there's a good layer of ice as it continues to rain on and off throughout the next two days, sometimes drizzling, sometimes coming down hard for a few minutes. By the evening of the 23rd, it stops raining. Ice buildup is between one and two inches (2.54 cm to 5.08 cm), enough to put some strain on trees, break some branches, and even knock out electricity in some areas despite the lack of any visible powerlines.

((Have at it! Also if you want to use this thread for any post-storm clean up - melting ice, clearing away fallen branches, patching things up - go for it!))

Oh ah... [Glances back and forth between the two.] Hn. All right, thank you. [Nods his head uncertainly. Hospitality; not his element (though really few things are for Smoker.)]

[Norma nods and wanders off a second later with a small smile. Grune can get the cookies, she'll start on the cocoa. It's...unwise to let Grune work a hot stove. Any and everyone in the household would certainly agree to that. The water will take a few minutes to boil, so meanwhile...she warms her hands near the burner and does not move.

Yeah, her cold tolerance is that low.]

[And off Grune wanders to get the cookies!

You get cold easily, huh. Are you from a warm area in your world?

Something like that. The Legacy doesn't really have many real cold places and stuff. It's pretty warm and sunny and stuff most of the time. At least it is in Werites Beacon. [Norma rubs her hands together, sighing. Man, she missed that aspect of home so much.]

I mean, there was the Ice Monument, but we only went there twice, and didn't stay for more than a few hours or something!

Legacy? What's the Ice Monument?

[Pause and glances off the direction Grune went.] Is she going to be okay?

The Legacy's the ship me and G-Girl sailed on. It's huge, like the size and shape of an entire island - or even bigger. The ice Monument is like...uh, I guess like a temple or something down under it, in the Quiet Lands. It's pretty complicated and--

[...Right. Grune. Grune went to do a task. Sigh.] I'm gonna go get her, can you catch the water for me a sec?

[Aaaand with that, Norma heads off in search of her dopey best friend.]

[Her dopey best friend is currently standing about two feet away from where the cookies are stored, looking into a drawer with a puzzled expression. Yep.]

A ship? Seriously??

Hn? Yeah. Go ahead. [Stokes the fire a little more and tends to the hot water.]

[Norma will have to answer that bit later. After she fetches Grune, grabs the cookies from the cupboards, presses them into her friend's arms, and steers her back where their guest was. Sigh, Grune...why do you do these things? Why? Norma loves you, truly, but you're keeping her away from the warmest place of the house.

Once they return, though, she'll assist Grune in actually laying the cookies out in a more presentable fashion.]

Thanks. Oh, and to answer your question - yeah. The Legacy is a big ship, but he doesn't really feel like one, y'know? You can barely feel it moving, and the landscape is more like a landmass than an actual ship with sails and wood railing and stuff like that.
