A Day In Another World
Who: Anyone in the event
What: For 21 hours, pairs of characters will get to visit one of their worlds
When: Sunday morning, from 1AM to 10PM (in Luceti time)
Where: Somewhere else!
Summary: It's described here. One person will play the host, another the visitor.
Rating: Keep it clean, kids! Move your icky business to appointments posts.
Quick run of things to keep in mind:
-The pair of characters will return to the host's canon point. The host will temporarily return to their physical state at whatever their canon point was.
-Anything they do will be undone after they return to Luceti.
-If they are going to be part of the Alternate Universe aspect of the event, they won't remember the visit until after they have returned to normal.
Disclaimer: Visiting canon worlds will mean having to NPC characters that may already exist in Luceti, but will have no memory or knowledge of it. Be respectful and in character and bear in mind that these do not reflect upon characters in game!
ALSO! Threading out the visit is 100% optional. You're entirely free and encouraged to discuss and handwave what goes on if you want. But if you would like to thread it out, you may do so here.

—plus this is a spaceship in which entering and exiting requires unlocking of the transporter controls, making his non-uniformed presence a little more suspect, yep.
By now, however, Ilia's managed to excuse me, passing through her way to close to the front where she can at least hear the conversation. It's a good thing she's pretty tall too, so she can at least tiptoe a little to see what's going on.
What is going on, Shinji? Do you need....rescuing?!]
no subject
[He just seems exasperated when he answers. Even if it was a dream, why couldn't people just... leave him alone?
Rescuing does sound pretty nice right now!]
no subject
However, staff on the Calnus aren't the type to go around picking fights for no reason (especially with alleged stowaway minors); the repercussions are too large, even with a captain as laissez-faire as Ronyx. The most Shinji would be getting...or rather would have been getting was a long stay in the holding rig until they'd found a suitable location to deport him.
Operative word: would have.]
Actually, I was about to bring him to see the captain.
[A bold assertion to make, and Ilia Silvestri enters the fray! ...not quite a rescue just yet, though.]

no subject
No, of course he's not.
—is what Ilia would've liked to say, but she held her tongue. She may not be vice-captain but she's at least well-known enough on this ship to placate part of its populace with a statement like that (especially since Ronyx never really said anything when it came to her little white half-truths). Still, the other fraction wasn't going to believe her that easily (and really, she reckons that that may be the smarter ones) so the least she can do is step forward.]
Captain's orders, Private. He's expecting us.
[This isn't similar to Roddick's case, of course; Roddick and Millie had been their guests then, and they'd brought them up on their own accord. Still, she'll reach out and tap Shinji on his shoulder. Come on, time to move this way.]
no subject
The tap on his shoulder puts a stop to these thoughts for now, though, and there's a quick nod before he starts following the woman away. Again, he doesn't argue or question or protest in the least—it's just easier this way.]
no subject
Whenever they're out of the crowd, she'll just steer him towards the cafeteria exit. Let's try to make a graceful, non-running exit before someone protests, shall we?]
no subject
Once they've made it away from the crowd, Shinji continues to quietly let Ilia lead him along. He wonders what this "captain" might want them for. He didn't expect anything good, but...]
i am the tl;dr machine!!
And swish they go once again behind them. It's a short corridor between the cafeteria to the elevator, Ilia knows, but that's not clearly visible from their current location since the elevator is behind a set of doors at the other end (security, you see, basic lockdown procedures). More corridors leading to different parts of the ship flank to their left and right and handrails line the sides in case the gravity malfunctions in the ship— not that it's happened before but inherent safety has always been an important thing in the design of anything.
Ilia knows all this, of course— it's part of the things she had to learnt about the Calnus.
Tap tap on your shoulder again, Shinji.]
Straight ahead.
[To the doors that lead to the elevator. It's too public to say anything here, so Shinji will have to deal with minimal conversation till she gets them to somewhere with a little less...people. Won't take too long.]
needs more words, dynast!
Right.
[This place reminds him a lot of Nerv, when he thinks about it. The technology and the crew members. This woman kind of reminded him of Misato, too, when she was actually trying to act professional. But this place isn't the same. What a weird thing to dream about...]
Hey, that's long enough. That's super long!
...a few things to keep in mind, basically.
However, once the door shuts and the elevator begins its descent, she'll turn back to regard him.]
What's your name?
no subject
He finally looks up at her question.]
Shinji Ikari. [There's a pause as he considers something, then decides to just go for it.] Um... Where are we?
no subject
We're currently orbiting Planet B51 in the Centuria belt.
[But is that really what he's asking for?]

[The elevator door opens with a ding and a quiet swish. There's only one set of heavy doors beyond the elevator landing area, and it's clearly labelled what this area is-- painted in rustproof red paint in even strokes over the doors.
Welcome to the airlock, Shinji.]
no subject
[He doesn't seem to realize that this might be a strange thing to say. After all, it's not everyday that one just suddenly finds themselves on a spaceship.]
no subject
After all, she does have every intention of bringing him to the Captain. Hiding stowaways was a pretty serious offence.]
We're on the starship Calnus. Weren't you aware of that?
[The hand on his shoulder (yes, it's been there all that time!) will just apply a little more pressure to nudge him forward. Let's just...get out here, all right?]
no subject
[He wasn't even sure how to explain it. It wasn't even like he woke up here. It was just that one minute he was in his room and now he was... here. Dream logic? The only reasonable explanation.]
no subject
I'm afraid that's not going to cut it. You're trespassing on a military craft and they'll want to deport you as soon as possible.
[She pauses for a moment to let that sink in.]
It's quite a serious situation.

[...these people definitely weren't the ones in charge, were they? There was no way. She'd have known who he was if that was the case, he's sure of it.]
no subject
The smile that she quirks doesn't reach her eyes, but hey, at least she's smiling.]
I'm familiar with it.
no subject
But... how? Aren't we supposed to just... forget about everything once we leave? I remember everything.
no subject
[...it'd probably sound really odd for anything watching the security feed now, wouldn't it? Either that, or really suspicious. Still, it's hard to imagine how someone wouldn't know of those details if they weren't at least passingly familiar with Luceti.
The smile that she quirks is fleeting.]
Especially if it's temporary.

Do you want to skip the whole Ronyx talk shindig? o/
No. Write it out. Write it out NOW. By which I mean yes, of course.
Screw this HTML shit.
