A Day In Another World

Who: Anyone in the event
What: For 21 hours, pairs of characters will get to visit one of their worlds
When: Sunday morning, from 1AM to 10PM (in Luceti time)
Where: Somewhere else!
Summary: It's described here. One person will play the host, another the visitor.
Rating: Keep it clean, kids! Move your icky business to appointments posts.

Quick run of things to keep in mind:

-The pair of characters will return to the host's canon point. The host will temporarily return to their physical state at whatever their canon point was.
-Anything they do will be undone after they return to Luceti.
-If they are going to be part of the Alternate Universe aspect of the event, they won't remember the visit until after they have returned to normal.

Disclaimer: Visiting canon worlds will mean having to NPC characters that may already exist in Luceti, but will have no memory or knowledge of it. Be respectful and in character and bear in mind that these do not reflect upon characters in game!

ALSO! Threading out the visit is 100% optional. You're entirely free and encouraged to discuss and handwave what goes on if you want. But if you would like to thread it out, you may do so here.

Just making a friendly suggestion is all. [Vash realizes there really isn't much he can do about that. Not like this at least. Everything they'd try to do anyway today would be erased.]

So, I guess you're home for the day. I don't know anything about this place, so is there any place you'd like to see before we're sent back?

No. I just want to be here. [ He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. After a moment, Joshua reaches over his shoulder and touches his back.

No scars.

So they'll probably still be there when he returns to Luceti. Of course. Things could never be that nice. ]

What sort of things do you like?

Me? I like donuts, I'm starved. But I don't have a single double dollar on me.

[neverplaysfair]

Yen. [ He giggles. ] We use yen here.

[ And without further explanation, Joshua starts walking. ]

[ACK! Don't leave him! Vash quickly follows behind him. Staring around at everything as they go.] Yen, huh?

Where are we going?

[neverplaysfair]

A bakery I like. Will that do?

[ And he leads Vash past a giant department store and several large music stores. ]

[goldenglasses]

A bakery!? That's would be perfect! I'd love to see this bakery of yours!

[neverplaysfair]

[ Then we will wander past another large music store and another department store. Are you sensing a trend yet. ]

What's your world like?

[goldenglasses]

Well, nothing like this. [Huh, he's starting to wish he had kept a count on all these music and department stores.] It's a lot uh... drier.

[neverplaysfair]

[ There's a lot. Joshua could tell Vash an exact number, but I don't feel like estimating one off the top of my head right now just to put it in the smalltext anyway. ]

Like a desert?

[goldenglasses]

Actually, I'd say EXACTLY like a desert. One big, endless desert.

... The whole thing?

Pretty much. There's a couple patches with a few plants.

How do you survive?

[goldenglasses]

Well, I'd be lying if I said it was easy. It takes a lot of work and help from each other. [Okay, and large Plants that are able to create just about anything.]

Where do you get water from?... Ah, and we're here.

[ And he stops outside a somewhat small pastry shop. All sorts of baked foods are displayed in the window, and more are visible inside. There doesn't appear to be any donuts, but there are plenty of different types of bread, rolls, and other such things.

Joshua smiles. ] Less than three years, and I already feel nostalgic coming back here. [ He giggles. ]

[goldenglasses]

Oh, different places. There are veins of water under the ground you just got to dig to find them.

[Vash recites the information easily and with little thought too it. Too busy looking around for his favorite treat.]

Aw, man. Don't have donuts here?

[neverplaysfair]

If this won't do, we can go elsewhere. Donuts aren't exactly popular in this corner of the world. [ Or tasty. I mean, I might be biased speaking as an American, but I had maybe two good donuts in Japan tops, and neither of them could have been less expensive than 500 yen. ]

[goldenglasses]

WHAT!? HOW CAN DONUTS NOT BE POPULAR!? [No, he doesn't care that he's shouting inside a store.]

[neverplaysfair]

[ And considering they're in a store, you'd think there would be a lot more staring. But all it takes is a casual glance around from Joshua and everyone soon goes about their business like the outburst never happened. ]

With an attitude like that, I'm not exactly inclined to take you anywhere at all. Now do you want to try something here, or no?

[goldenglasses]

[Vash notices the look, although acts as if he doesn't. Not changing his weepy attitude in the slightest.] Let's try one more place. I really can't believe you don't have donuts in every bakery here!

[neverplaysfair]

I'm getting something for myself, first.

[ And Joshua inspects a row of hotdog rolls, and after a moment, selects one of them and moves to the register to pay. ]

[goldenglasses]

Fine. Fine. [Vash sulks and looks around the bakery, as if he's still looking for a donut. However, what he's really doing is trying to gauge is people's reactions to Joshua.]

[neverplaysfair]

[ Unfortunately, it seems the tall, spiky-haired foreigner is grabbing a lot more attention than the teenaged pseudo-foreigner. Most of the attention in the shop is still focused on Vash, though the patrons and staff seem to be trying to politely direct their attention elsewhere whenever Vash glances their directions. Joshua himself isn't getting much more than a couple second glances, and he pays without incident. ]

Now then, shall we?

Alright. I'm ready. Can't believe there aren't any donuts here.

[As they leave Vash reaches up and rubs at the back of his head.] I guess, they don't see people like me very often do they? Do I really stick out that much?
