A Day In Another World

Who: Anyone in the event
What: For 21 hours, pairs of characters will get to visit one of their worlds
When: Sunday morning, from 1AM to 10PM (in Luceti time)
Where: Somewhere else!
Summary: It's described here. One person will play the host, another the visitor.
Rating: Keep it clean, kids! Move your icky business to appointments posts.

Quick run of things to keep in mind:

-The pair of characters will return to the host's canon point. The host will temporarily return to their physical state at whatever their canon point was.
-Anything they do will be undone after they return to Luceti.
-If they are going to be part of the Alternate Universe aspect of the event, they won't remember the visit until after they have returned to normal.

Disclaimer: Visiting canon worlds will mean having to NPC characters that may already exist in Luceti, but will have no memory or knowledge of it. Be respectful and in character and bear in mind that these do not reflect upon characters in game!

ALSO! Threading out the visit is 100% optional. You're entirely free and encouraged to discuss and handwave what goes on if you want. But if you would like to thread it out, you may do so here.

[Link nods, carefully climbing aboard and trying not to tug any feathers out.] Okay - ready!

[Once situated, she gently nudges the bird with her feet and it darts forward, out of the clearing. Once past the forest, Rydia halts the chocobo long enough to enjoy the view of Baron Castle, its spires rising in the distance. Glancing back, she grins and calls out.]

Race you!

Hey, you got a head start! [Laughing, Link charges after her.]

[He'd win for sure on Epona!]

[Rydia laughs and urges her chocobo onward. She's sure Link will catch up; experience may be on her side, but he's a skilled rider and she's sure he'll adjust to chocobo riding easily. As the majestic castle draws closer, airships can be seen flying overhead; the Red Wings, Baron's finest. There's also a sprawling town outside the walls of the castle, with soldiers going back and forth between the two, and ordinary citizens going about their day.

But for the moment, Rydia's only paying attention to the ride. The sun on her face and the wind in her hair is all she needs for the moment.]

[Link does indeed draw level, and stays there, enjoying the ride and the scent of fresh air. While a chocobo's two-legged stride feels very different to Epona's, his balance is good enough to compensate, and it's a rather pleasant substitution for now.]

Yeah, it is. Have you explored all around here?

[mistlegacy]

[She nods cheerfully.]

Yes, long ago. Though considering how long it's been to my mind, it all feels new and exciting again. I'll be happy to give you a tour.

[Leaning forward, she reaches over to pet her chocobo as they race along the ground.]

These ones aren't tame enough to stick with us; once we dismount, they'll flee back to the forest.

Well, we have a full day, right? [He pauses at a sudden thought.] Although I think we'll have to sleep some time. It still feels like really early in the morning.

[He nods at the explanation.] Okay. It's been fun riding them, though!

It has! I've really missed this.

[And she grows thoughtful, mulling over the good points he made.]

If you want to catch up on sleep, I'm sure we'll be welcome at the castle. It's probably best to do so there instead of on the airship; the engine makes too much noise for that, usually. A nap won't hurt, and then we can get some breakfast?

That sounds like a good idea. [The adrenaline and energy of being in a new place is wearing off somewhat, and Link is just plain sleepy.] A few hours would be good.

Don't worry, I have enough patience for that.

[Truth be told, the lack of sleep is starting to catch up with her, too. She leads the chocobo to the front gates, then dismounts. The chocobo remains just long enough to let her pet it, then darts back off in the direction of the forest.]

[Link's does rather the same, and he straightens up, gazing up at the gates. It feels rather like arriving at Hyrule Castle for the first time.] Wow... it's big.

[Rydia nods, smiling as she stares upward.]

It's the most powerful kingdom in this world, so that suits. And we'll be welcome here, just you see.

[She steps forward and waves to the guards, who part to allow them through the main gate.]

Don't worry, we won't have to go through a formal audience or anything like that. I'm pretty sure they've had their fill of formality from the wedding, anyway.

[Link huffs a laugh as they're waved through.] That's good. It's nice to be able to walk in somewhere! The first time I met Princess Zelda, I had to sneak past the guards.

[The fact that a ten-year-old could do so doesn't speak highly of Hyrule's security...]

[Rydia chuckles.]

There is a way to do that here...but it's not pleasant, so I'd just as soon skip it.

[She pauses a servant to inquire about the king and queen, only to learn that they're currently in town, visiting Rosa's mother. Well, then. Turning back to Link, she shrugs.]

I expected they'd be busy, but that works just fine for our plans, anyway. C'mon, I'll lead us to the guest chambers.

Oh - well, that'll be okay, then! I've never slept in a castle before. [Link is all eyes as Rydia leads them through it, taking in the richness of... everything.]

It was a strange change of pace for me, after campsites and inns, but I think you'll like it.

[Rydia, too, glances around at everything; the portaits, the tapestries, the style of armor that the guards display. She hasn't seen this all in person for so long. (Battle Dome experiences do not in any way count.) She follows a route that takes them away from the main body of the castle, crossing a courtyard to reach one of the towers. Within, are simple yet elegant sleeping arrangements; fireplaces, soft beds, thick rugs, windows overlooking courtyard and castle.]

This ought to do, right?

[Link stares openly for a moment hick country boy is a hick, then breaks into a grin.] Wow! I don't know if I'll be able to sleep after all, it's so rich-looking!

[Rydia chuckles softly.]

I don't know about that; one minute after stretching out on that bed and I bet you'll sleep like a rock.

[Her expression softens after a moment.]

Link...thanks for coming with me. It means a lot that I could visit here again, and all the other places that we'll go.

[True, he does like his sleep. It's a Link trait. He returns her smile.] It's no problem. It's going to be really fun seeing your world - maybe if they do this again, you can see Hyrule.

[Hang on, stifling a yawn.] Although hopefully next time we won't have to leave that early.

[mistlegacy]

[That brings out a soft laugh.]

I know, that was rather disruptive. But you settle in, I'll go find Cid and make sure he'll be ready to take us to the Underworld once we've had some rest.

Okay. Thanks! [Ridding himself of his outdoors clothes (isn't it convenient of the Malnosso to leave him with his sleeping things?), Link wriggles under the blankets, letting out a soft sigh of absolute contentment.]

[This bed is gooood.]

[Rydia gets a sleepy smile and a, "Night!", and he's out like a light.]
