What: Silver issued a battle challenge to Gold, who accepted.
When: Saturday afternoon
Where: The Battle Dome
Summary: Gold and Silver have been in Luceti together for a year and yet have never had a single Pokémon battle. Deciding it's time to rectify, they head off to the Battle Dome to throw down!
Rating: PG? I mean, it's Pokémon...
[Gold had been anxiously waiting for this day. Sure, the standard format for Pokémon battles involved just battling whenever your eyes meet, but if they did that, there'd be constant battles all day, every day. Therefore, these things had to be planned.

...Besides that, Silver was his rival. Always has been, always will be. That makes this battle special. A battle to settle old scores... No, a battle to determine who's the best trainer out of the two of them, and furthermore... To show everyone just how it's done.

It was time. Their battle lies ahead.]

Aitaro, Double Hit!

[That tail you just struck with Brick Break? It now seems to split into two separate but very real tails, and both are going in strike Sneasel while his guard is down.]

It's a little too late to react, and Sneasel goes flying back way past Silver. It's pretty clear that he's gotten hit hard from- wait a minute, how is Aitaro strong enough to--?]

[Selphie's new to Pokemon battles but as long as Gold and Silver have fun doing it, then it's okay with her.

However, judging from the generally blank look on her face, she's actually quite confused about all of this. Someone be a dear and explain the rules, yeah?]

[Aang had caught wind of the event from Masaomi. He was still pretty uncomfortable with the idea of these creatures having to fight each other, but he was still interesting in seeing what they were like and if he could ride one later. So he took a seat and eagerly watched as the battle began.]

[Gold grins widely at Silver.]

You think I'd give up before playin' every card in my hand? Dream on, Silver!

[Aitaro looks particularly pleased with itself managing to successfully pull off that new move they've been working on and--...whoa, Aitaro's glowing. He's... evolving? What the--?!]

Aitaro's form grows and changes and is soon quickly replaced by this larger monkey, sporting those two tails Aitaro had just formed.]

[Shiemi, while she'd love to socialize, is extremely intent on watching the match. She feels like she and her skarmory haven't advanced as far as they could have. Her eyebrows furrow, and her cheeks puff out as she tries to concentrate. Skarmy looks just as focused.]

[Masaomi is watching with Pichu on his shoulder, but... when Gold's Aitaro starts glowing to evolve he blinks, amazed, and stands and- well see here]

What the hell is- It grew another tail?! And glowing?!

Plan B, Sneasel. Just keep moving. Pokédex, Pokédex, Pokédex--

...Dammit, Pokédex. WHATEVER, AITARO IS AITARO, RIGHT?]

Let's go, Aitaro! [That purple monkey is charging right at Sneasel, and he's definitely moving faster than before. A lot faster.]

So this is what a pokemon battle is like...

[Selphie, being one of the few non-pokemon trainers in the house has learned enough about pokemon to find them easy to live with as long as you treat them well but it's her first time seeing a battle.]

[tsuntrader]

[-Whatever, they can push through this. Even if Aitaro is as fast as- no, faster than--] Faint Attack! [They're not throwing in the towel without a fight, no way, not happening-]

[Aitaro jumps up in the air over that Faint Attack to avoid getting hit. Having such superior speed really helps now. Then, while in the air.]

Double Hit, again! [Aitaro does a twirl, and slams down at Sneasel with both of those tails like a flyswatter.]

[tsuntrader]

[And just like that, it's over. ...Maybe Sneasel can still- ...No. No, it's over. Who knew that Aitaro could evolve...?]

[Definitely not Gold, that's for sure. But he's sure not complaining, although this change of events is definitely going straight to his head.]

Heh, how do you like them apples, Silver? I told you there's no way you're gonna win against me! The difference between us is like the sun and the moon!

[tsuntrader]

[...He's letting it go to his head. Perfect. It gives him a great chance to quietly send Aitaro packing with a Double-Edge from Murkrow.]

[And then he notices Murkrow has KO'ed Aitaro. ...Well, it was nice while it lasted, at least.

...Dammit. Gold quietly recalls Aitaro and sends out his second Pokémon, Politaro.]

[tsuntrader]

If you weren't too busy gloating, you might've been able to prevent that. [Sneasel has already been recalled; Murkrow in the meantime puffs his chest out and looks down at Politaro from the air. Bring it, frog boy.]

...Aitaro was worn out, he wouldn'tve lasted too much longer anyway. But things are just heatin' up now! [Gold doesn't give a command right away, though, as Politaro sizes up the bird. Come at me, you stupid chicken.]

[tsuntrader]

You bet they are. [Murkrow will gladly do so. In fact, he's zooming straight into the air and swooping down for another Double-Edge right now. It's painfully clear that he has even less of a sense of self preservation than usual.]

[oh man, this bird is crazy, yeah. But if he wants to meet his maker, Politaro will be glad to help, jumping out of the way and countering with Toxic.]

[And Katara had decided to tag along. Having fought Linda, she is somewhat aware of what they can do.

...but she cringes when the pokemon clash, wincing away.]

Looks like you're begging for punishment today. Facade! [Murkrow, while being hit by the poison and losing strength, doesn't seem fazed at all- in fact, he simply swoops down to slam his head into Politaro a lot stronger than before.]
