Summary: Gold and Silver have been in Luceti together for a year and yet have never had a single Pokémon battle. Deciding it's time to rectify, they head off to the Battle Dome to throw down!
Rating: PG? I mean, it's Pokémon...
[Gold had been anxiously waiting for this day. Sure, the standard format for Pokémon battles involved just battling whenever your eyes meet, but if they did that, there'd be constant battles all day, every day. Therefore, these things had to be planned.

...Besides that, Silver was his rival. Always has been, always will be. That makes this battle special. A battle to settle old scores... No, a battle to determine who's the best trainer out of the two of them, and furthermore... To show everyone just how it's done.

It was time. Their battle lies ahead.]

[Aang had caught wind of the event from Masaomi. He was still pretty uncomfortable with the idea of these creatures having to fight each other, but he was still interesting in seeing what they were like and if he could ride one later. So he took a seat and eagerly watched as the battle began.]

[And Katara had decided to tag along. Having fought Linda, she is somewhat aware of what they can do.

[It was a bit unsettling for Aang too, although he tried to believe the assurances he's heard defending the Pokemon battles. He was grateful for Katara's presence, but he became more dismayed when he noticed her reaction.]

I'm fine! [She said quickly. Maybe a little too quickly. She attempts to ameliorate it.]

It's just - this is a little strange. If I didn't know that the Pokemon had their own minds about this, I'd be really uncomfortable right now.

[Instead of. You know. Mildly uncomfortable.]

I know. It's kind of weird for me to watch, too. But they say this is how they live in their world. And I don't know why that monkey has an udder on its tail.

I know! [She lowers her voice conspiratorially.] And they say our world's animals are strange.

[He nods along knowingly.]

Yeah, our animals are just like two of their animals together. But these guys, they're cute but it's like they're just parts of different animals mixed together with element powers.

Can you imagine a whole world filled with animals like these?

I can't tell whether I'd love or be afraid of it. It'd be to try to ride a lot of them, but it sounds like a lot of them can be really dangerous. [He tries to un-remember Masaomi's comment about Pichu's potential power.]

For the record, that purple monkey there - Aitaro - that's Linda's father.

[Aang is flabbergasted by the comment and spends a moment just trying to process that in his mind, being confused enough by the idea that he isn't even thinking about anything particular that he might have learned recently about two of the people sitting near him.]

That can... happen?

Seems so. [And he laughs. Yes, he knows it sounds ridiculous, and he pats Aang on the back (below the wings) in response to that]

Pokemon are weird.

I think pokemone make up for the fact there's no magic or bending or whatnot to be found where they're from.

[Rocking in his seat, smirking. If there are hard feelings they. Are. Hidden.]

That really makes sense. They throw elements around so easily.

Well, there's actually... [Counting in his head... someone told him this a while ago, but.] It was fifteen or seventeen. Types of pokemon, I mean. There's fire, water, and ground like in your bending, but then there's also ice, flying, poison, steel, dark, psychic, rock, [He's clearly blanking here. Uh] Grass... [that's 11. HM]

Wow. Do they really need that many? Most of those are just different forms of the four elements. And poison is... poison.

I'm not sure if I actually want one. But they seem like they'd be fun animals to ride on or just play around with.

Appa and I have actually always got along. And he arrived here in Luceti this week if you want to meet him! But I'm talking more about other animals I tried to ride in the wild sometimes, like hog-monkeys and the unagi.
