Pokémon battle! And we'll see who is the better trainer! And we'll see who has the bigger Pokéballs!
Who: Gold (
mischiefbreeder) and Silver (
tsuntrader), plus any spectators!
What: Silver issued a battle challenge to Gold, who accepted.
When: Saturday afternoon
Where: The Battle Dome
Summary: Gold and Silver have been in Luceti together for a year and yet have never had a single Pokémon battle. Deciding it's time to rectify, they head off to the Battle Dome to throw down!
Rating: PG? I mean, it's Pokémon...
[Gold had been anxiously waiting for this day. Sure, the standard format for Pokémon battles involved just battling whenever your eyes meet, but if they did that, there'd be constant battles all day, every day. Therefore, these things had to be planned.
...Besides that, Silver was his rival. Always has been, always will be. That makes this battle special. A battle to settle old scores... No, a battle to determine who's the best trainer out of the two of them, and furthermore... To show everyone just how it's done.
It was time. Their battle lies ahead.]

[But Silver seems the stubborn won't-take-no-for-an-answer kinda guy, so Ingo does ponder it a moment.] I would, perhaps, ask for a one-on-one battle following your Pokémon's evolution, but I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the, ah... strongly hands-on type of battling style you used. [It looks like serious business and not to be trifled with or asked for...]

Was it really that hands on?

No, Ingo. This is one of those universe differences. Stop trying to make sense of it.]

Well, no, he could think of plenty of weirder things. Like, you know, universes where Pokédexes are as common as newspapers. Or universes where there aren't any Pokémon at all.]

Hmm. [He has a point. It's still plenty dangerous, but...] That is true. I suppose it depends on your tolerance for physical strain. And it certainly adds the element of a Trainer's ability to keep up...
[It's definitely more survivalist than the sporty battles of the gameverse world.]

...Wait a minute.] Would training with you count as a payment? [One. Track. Mind.]

It can most certainly count, and teaching you is but a part of training. [Training is a two-way street and all that!] I would be more than happy to, Silver.

Thanks. [Guhhhmrrbah. ...Headpats...]

Of course. [Hmhm.]

It's also very impressive-- the way you steered your Pokémon down new tracks without knowing those paths were already built... Quite remarkable, really. [He shakes his head slightly, in mild disbelief.] If I may ask-- what was your thought process regarding the formation of those moves?

We've practiced with Surf a lot to make it wider or narrower before. Since Explotaro's pretty fast, it seemed like a good idea to narrow that water pressure even further to get Feraligatr to move a lot more quickly. I'm not sure why I didn't think of it sooner. Aqua Tail just followed suit. My big sis came up with something pretty similar before to quickly maneuver in the air with her Blastoise.
