What: Silver issued a battle challenge to Gold, who accepted.
When: Saturday afternoon
Where: The Battle Dome
Summary: Gold and Silver have been in Luceti together for a year and yet have never had a single Pokémon battle. Deciding it's time to rectify, they head off to the Battle Dome to throw down!
Rating: PG? I mean, it's Pokémon...
[Gold had been anxiously waiting for this day. Sure, the standard format for Pokémon battles involved just battling whenever your eyes meet, but if they did that, there'd be constant battles all day, every day. Therefore, these things had to be planned.

...Besides that, Silver was his rival. Always has been, always will be. That makes this battle special. A battle to settle old scores... No, a battle to determine who's the best trainer out of the two of them, and furthermore... To show everyone just how it's done.

It was time. Their battle lies ahead.]

Empoleon, Luxray, Togekiss, Garchomp, Lucario and Espeon. I'm bit sure which ones I'll have here.

[-record scratch.] Garchomp? The evolved form of the Dragon/Ground type found in the Sinnoh region?

[barrette]

Uh-huh! You've heard of them before?

[tsuntrader]

I've read about them. It's a powerful, well rounded species that tends to gain strength faster than most dragons, but still retains the difficulty of training a Dragon-type. Its dragon typing gives it immense speed, something rare among ground types. There's only one other Pokémon that's both a dragon and a ground type, and it's found in Hoenn.

You really have one of them?

[barrette]

I wouldn't say I have one if I didn't. I caught her when she was still a Gible.

[ you sound like an encyclopedia, Silver! ]

She's very determined, and knows what she's capable of, so she's kinda rash, but she's got great instincts. I call her Adelinde.

[tsuntrader]

What kind of moves does she know? [Earthquake for sure, then... Dragon Claw or Dragon Rush, right? And from there he's kinda clueless...]

Flamethrower, Earthquake, Draco Meteor and Shadow Claw.

[tsuntrader]

[...] What are those last two?

[barrette]

Draco Meteor is a Dragon type attack that only Dragon types can learn. Adelinde learned it from a old lady named Wilma.

Shadow Claw, on the other hand, is a Ghost type move all kinds of Pokemon can learn from TM65.

[tsuntrader]

[Only learnable by Dragon types...] Is Shadow Claw exactly what it sounds like?

It's exactly what it sounds like. I'll show you if Adelinde is here.

I think I can figure it out. [Sneasel would probably be able to learn it...]

Without the TM?

[tsuntrader]

I don't really have a choice here. [Sure, it would be a lot easier with the TM, but he'll have to manage.]
