Summary: Gold and Silver have been in Luceti together for a year and yet have never had a single Pokémon battle. Deciding it's time to rectify, they head off to the Battle Dome to throw down!

[Gold had been anxiously waiting for this day. Sure, the standard format for Pokémon battles involved just battling whenever your eyes meet, but if they did that, there'd be constant battles all day, every day. Therefore, these things had to be planned.

...Besides that, Silver was his rival. Always has been, always will be. That makes this battle special. A battle to settle old scores... No, a battle to determine who's the best trainer out of the two of them, and furthermore... To show everyone just how it's done.

I know it must be a bit weird at first, and this might sound crazy, but they really enjoy it. It helps them grow stronger, and even bond with each other.

I can tell that the bond is there. You don't get to working together like that after a day.

Like any other team. So are there really any particular rules to pokemon battles or are they all freestyle like this?

There can be! Sometimes there's a limit for the number of Pokemon you can use. Like for Gym battles. The rules depend on what gym you're challenging. But usually it's just three Pokemon vs. three.

So they vary on the situation then. That makes sense for them then.

That's right. But they usually tend to be the same. Like the kind Silver and Gold are doing.

[selphie_t]

Aaaah, I see, I see. So do they often butt heads like this back in your world?

[kickingcatcher]

Every single day.

Yeah, it gets kinda old after a while. But they wouldn't be themselves if they didn't, so I guess it's okay.

I have a couple friends from back home who are like that. They... mostly grow out of it?

Good for them! I'm still waiting for the day when they do.

It might take a little longer from the looks of it. We'll just have to keep supporting them both until then, right?

Hmm... I actually don't know. These guys have gotten better while they've been here, and they're both really good trainers. I uh... can't really tell.

Yep! I train them a lot, and we've had some pretty good battles in our days.
