Summary: Let's get gardening! The Memory Garden needs a little fixing up after the winter/spring. Will you come to help? Refreshments are provided!

[Are you ready to garden? The memory garden needs your help, with weeding, watering, tidying, raking, fertilizing, pruning, trimming, expanding beds, edging borders, transplanting, and planting. Which job will you take?

When you're feeling tired and hungry, delicious refreshments have been provided. Go ahead, have a snack!

Grune will be around for...most of the day. It would be all day, but occasionally she'll forget what she's doing and wander away. She'll always come back, though!

When she's around, she'll alternate between looking after the garden and saying hello. She's so glad you came, each and every one of you!]

[OOC: I am so sorry for dropping off the face of Luceti this week, everyone. Work basically went, "Oh hey, Vyc is planning to host a mini-event this week? Awesome! This is the perfect time to go haywire!" And it promptly did.

[Pilouette had been so excited for the chance to be useful and woke up extra early that morning to make sandwiches for Grune's gardening party, though she may have made a few too many.

She's a little nervous since she knows next to nothing about gardening, as she's got on her glasses to deal with it. She's not quite sure what to do, so she'll mostly be milling around, fetching things and doing whatever else people ask her to do. After all, if there's anything she's good at, it's following directions!]

[Don't think she really had to worry about making too many. As once Vash shows up later in the day they'll be disappearing fast enough. In fact, she may want to remind him that this is suppose to be about gardening, not eating.]

[While Pilouette is glad that they're not going to waste, she's surprised that so many of them are being eaten by one person. Uh...]

W-Wow, you must be like, way hungry or something! You must have been working totally hard to be eating like that, huh?

Hm? Mhm! Oh no! I just got here! Mmhm! These are really good! You want one?

[Not too terribly long after she arrives, Grune will amble on up with a big smile.]

Hello, Pilouette! Thank you for coming!

Oh! Hi, Miss Grune! I'm like, totally happy to be here! I don't know a lot about this garden, but I bet it's important if we're having a party to fix it up like this...

Oh, yes, it's very important. [She looks about a bit before returning her gaze to Pilouette.] This is the special garden where you can plant flowers for friends who went away for a while, to show them how much you love them.

[Pao-Lin will busy herself with gardening-like chores in what is hopefully one of the more secluded, quieter areas of the Memory Garden. She's still uncomfortable with the idea of being around so many people, especially ones that she knows (there's a fair bit of overlap in friendship circles between herself and Grune), but she couldn't turn down Grune wanting some help. Besides, although she doesn't feel like going back to training just yet, she's been feeling the urge to get active again, so something like this is a good start.]

[Pao-Lin may have tried to seclude herself, but that won't stop Cheria from approaching her! She does so at a slow, cautious pace, as she's perfectly aware that people who move to a quiet corner may not want company, but she won't know until she attempts it.]

Miss Pao-Lin?

[She glances up at the sound of her name being called. Oh, it's just Cheria. Yeah, Cheria is good people. Pao-Lin relaxes and gives a small smile.]

Hi, Cheria. Nice day out, huh?

[Ahh, that smile is promising. Cheria will return it.]

Yes, it is. It's a very fine day for a party like this.

[If Pao-Lin wants to be left alone, well, it isn't going to happen at a party hosted by Grune. Doing that is just not possible for someone like her. After all, if she did, Pao-Lin might feel left out.

She does, however, watch her for a little while before coming over. The last time they spoke, Pao-Lin had been sad. Is she still sad? Grune thinks she might be.

And so, when she drifts over to her friend's side, she's just a little quieter than usual.]

Hello, Pao-Lin. Are you having a nice time?

[Yeah, Grune's good people too. Even if Pao-Lin isn't comfortable talking about the specific details of her trauma around the woman, she's safe knowing that Grune won't press her about it, and she can just forget about things for a while.]

Yeah, I am. You did a good job organizing this garden party.

[...okay, so Pao-Lin suspects that there must have been more than a few people out there making sure Grune didn't forget she wanted to do this in the first place, but still.]

[Pao-Lin, you have good instincts. Grune would still be talking about the party come December without her friends.

But anyway. She smiles in delight.] Thank you! Everyone worked very hard and did their best, so it all worked out.

[Having grown up in District Elevent, Rue is used to planting and taking care of crops. She's spent more time out in the orchard since the kids are usually responsible for climbing trees and picking fruit, but she's worked out in the fields when everyone was needed.

Rue alternates between planting and pulling weeds, humming to herself as she works at a steady pace.]

"What are the seeds of?"

Next to Rue is a tall, athletic girl with long hair... Really tall. Almost seven feet tall, with a short sword in her back and a pistol in her right holster.

Also kneeling on the ground, hands with a recently extracted weed.

Rue gapes for a moment at how tall Daisy is. She's never seen anyone, especially a girl, so tall before. Thresh was pretty tall, and so were some of the other tributes, but not as tall as Daisy! It takes Rue a minute to find her voice, especially when she sees notices the sword and pistol. Peacekeeper, her mind automatically goes to and she's nervous for a moment.

"Cornflowers," she finally says, showing the package with bright blue flowers on the front. "They look pretty and they grow easily."

She notices the nervousness. It's present in many new feathers when they see her. While Daisy had never known before Luceti how to deal with this sort of situation before... she has to try.

Having a deep love for gardens and flora, ends up helping her.

"They're gorgeous..." She needs them in her apartment. Her eyes turn to Rue. "I haven't done much gardening in the past. How much water and what kind of ground do they need?"

[Grune of course is going to be coming over to say hello to Rue. It's very nice to see her friend working away so happily; it makes her happy, too!]

Hello, Rue! Would you like something to eat or drink?

[Rue smiles up at Grune, her hands and clothes grubby from the dirt, but she doesn't mind at all.]

Hi, Grune! And I'm fine, thank you! I already had some water!

[Grune kneels right down next to her.]

That's good. Don't forget to have something else if you ever get hungry or thirsty. [She doesn't want people to go without at her party.]

Have you planted any flowers yet?

[The co-owner of the Memory Garden - of a sort, anyway - is here.

In fact, he's probably one of the earliest on the scene... as awkward as he is being around large groups of people, this is one of the areas he has an obligation in, and he'd rather not leave Grune alone to deal with it.

That, and it's rhythmic, repetitive enough work that it easily settles into routine for him - the same kind of routine he finds soothing.

One might notice that he tends to plant or do similar tasks in groups of threes as he works the garden... additionally, him taking the occasional note on his nanocomputer could garner interest, if you felt like talking to the reclusive man in the lab coat.]

Presumably she greeted him when she first arrived, but now she's wandering over for a more sustained conversation. Before she can say hello, however, his nanocomputer attracts her attention.]

Oh, my. What's that?

[Oh, right. Robert has never shown Grune his nanocomputer before (when she was... like this, anyway). Robert startles just a second, but after a moment, looks up at her.]

... This is... my nanocomputer. I am using it to compile data about the plants here...

[Right now, the little computer is displaying several concurrent charts listing the species of plants in the Garden, as well as their requirements for food, water, sun and nutrients.]

[She peers at it, intrigued. It's so small, but it looks like it's saying lots of interesting things!]
