[Aang managed to get a room near Katara's and Toph's. Nearly everything about this was preying on his nerves, but he tried to stay calm and make the best of it despite the weird and uncomfortable spacesuit. He explores the ship, in search of familiar faces (at first seeking out Sokka) and occasionally getting lost. Aang also could be fond in the galley, where he assembles a typical vegetarian dish.

And he later has trouble finding anywhere where he could meditate to try to clear his mind of this anxiety. Aang eventually settles for looking out into space, both amazed and disturbed by the sight.]

[She's headed in the opposite direction when he passes with that internal-disturbance look on his face. Raven does not usually bother people who appear to not want to be bothered. For that matter, she really doesn't bother the ones who are clamoring for attention.

...Something about this one, though.]

[It takes a moment for him to hear her. He turns and faces her. Something about her seems familiar... had they spoken in the past?]

How'd you end up here?

I got drafted, from Luceti. With most of my friends.

I did too. [Minus the friends part.]

You're young for a war.

[It's something he'd had to deal with.]

I'm fourteen. And... this isn't exactly my first war. [But he was able to win the war back home without being lethal... everything here seemed different and scarier.]

[pendantry]

That's young.

[Moreso if he's done this before. Raven is frowning.]

We could have. You do sound really familiar... My name's Aang.

[Does she have to shake his hand? She's more open to talking to people but doing the social politeness thing is still...unlikely.]

I remember your voice.

[For once, Aang is focused on being polite. He instead thinks back on the name and remembers. This does brighten his expression somewhat.]

Raven... yeah! We did talk! You were the girl whose clothes were stolen, right?

Mmh. Yeah. [How embarrassing.] They weren't stolen. I was just new.

Oh. Right. That makes sense. [After all, he was in a state of undress when he arrived. He smirks lightly.] Was Masaomi playing a joke?

[Clank, clank, clank, clank.

That'd be the sound of metal as Ven makes his way through the ship. However, when he spots Aang looking out into space, he comes to an abrupt stop. After all, he remembers speaking to him over the journals once before. Maybe this isn't the best time for socializing, but maybe a little chitchat could clear the air.

So, after a little deliberation, he'll go ahead and approach, gazing out into the abyss.]

Space sure is something else, huh?

[It's just a shame that they have to get dragged out just to fight the Malnosso's battles.]

[The voice sounds familiar. Real familiar. But Aang doesn't place it just yet.]

Yeah. It's so weird to actually be up here, you know? I just didn't remember it being so... spacey.

[risingwinds]

Spacey?

[Sorry, Aang. That gets a chuckle outta Ventus.]

I think I get what you mean. It's one thing to look at the sky, but to actually be up here and see everything so close...

[A beat.]

Too bad there aren't any stars.

Yeah, that is really weird. I know I saw stars back in the village. I remember. [That one night at the beach...]

[risingwinds]

Hey, don't worry. You're not the only one!

[Though it's not visible beneath his helmet, he cracks a smile.]

I always stay up really late just to look at the stars. Seeing everything so... black just doesn't add up.

[He shakes his head.]

It just doesn't make sense. No stars, but a moon. That we're gonna fight on.

Makes you wonder if the sky down there's even real.

[After all, the Malnosso could probably simulate a sky easily. Maybe to keep everyone comfortable...

But that still doesn't explain the lack of stars.]

I... don't think I'd be surprised. They can fake so many other things. [That existential episode at the end of the last experiment made him very aware of how many things could be faked around here.]

Yeah... A little too much, if you ask me.

[Especially when it comes to memories and feelings. It's a sore spot for him.]

But, er. At least we get to see something new out here, even if we've gotta do a bunch of fighting.

And... I don't think new things will make it worth having to fight for them.

Yeah, I can't argue that.

[He shakes his head, looking out towards the surrounding blackness.]

But if being here means I get a chance to protect people, then I'd say it's still worth it... at least a little.

[The Malnosso are way too fond of drafting noncombatants, after all. Kids, even!]

That's true. My friends are here, and I'm glad that if they're going, I'm gonna be here to try to protect them. [It's the closest to his Avatar job he can manage here.]
