Where: The mikan orchard.
Summary: An impromptu last minute stubborn celebration of something that's fun.

[Tis a mingling post. Mingle! Seriously. The orchard's lit up, there is alcohol, there are snacks, there are mikan. There's also piles of coloured paper for much later, but that's another story.

[Friends are good. Friends are ...tacklable. From behind. Late in the evening while slightly drunk.]

Robiiin~!

[Slightly unexpected, Robin stumbles a little, but doesn't fall. She's not quite drunk enough herself though she's starting to contemplate it.]

Nami-chan. [She puts a hand over Nami's and glances back at her]

Happy Birthday.

[It's as happy as she can make it damn it B| Nami grins back, more steady on her feet than that sudden tacklehug might make you think, but she's definitely a little tipsy.] Thank you. I've missed you, you know.

[Consider it that welcome-back hug she never quite got to give with all the chaos going on.]

It seems like we haven't seen each other much lately. [Though she knows that's not quite what Nami means]

Has anything interesting been happening?

[As she speaks she ferries over two glasses of something strong and somewhat fruity and hands one glass to Nami]

Cheers. [She holds up her glass]

I met one of my best friend's grandkids today. Thanks. [She clinks Robin's glass.] Cheers! You?

[She takes a small drink]

I believe I'm dating Marco. It's a very interesting experience. [And she's still not altogether sure what to make of it]

[You had to say that as she was drinking, didn't you. Look at that, an actual spittake.]

Pfft!

Nice distance. [She takes a sip] Have you been practicing?

Ha. Ha. [Drinking the rest of her drink the regular way, thanks.] Marco? Seriously?

Yes. Seriously. [She is a bit curious at the question. The intent a bit difficult to read] Is that so surprising?

Where you're concerned? Not so much. Just feels weird, given they're technically our enemies.

[Technically. Actually, Nami can't fathom picking a fight with the Whitebeard Pirates ever, but with Luffy as a captain she's just gonna be open to the idea just in case.]

And if we fight them, we fight them. [She shrugs.]

But I don't think it will happen here and when we return, we won't remember this.

As for enemies [she takes a sip] Firefist-san is a Whitebeard.

Tell me something I don't know, Robin. I said it felt weird, I didn't say it was wrong.

[She concedes the point.]

It is strange. I don't know what to make of it. I'm not even sure what I'm doing. But for some reason that doesn't seem to matter.

[And that is somehow both good and bad]

...well, you're both consenting adults. And pirates. I don't think much is going to matter as long as you're enjoying yourselves.

[That's...not quite what she meant. Though she's not quite sure how to say what she means. These feelings are faintly new for her, at least in this context, and she's not sure how to categorize them.]

It is enjoyable. He's entirely too easy to tease. [And, more importantly, he keeps her on her toes]

[Whereas Nami just assumes Robin is a lot more experienced at this sort of thing than she is. Don't look at her for sagely advice on intimacy. *_*]

Well, that's always a good start.

[She nods. And then because she's curious...]

Have you ever...? [And she hopes that and a vague gesture will be enough]

[...well, she was in a good mood.]

Yes. [Flat and kind of not really inviting following that on.]

I see. [She knows well enough to steer away from that though there seems to be nothing to replace it with. She isn't even sure which world that took place in. But that's the danger with any kind of relationship, she supposes. Unless it is nakama, it is never a good idea to let feelings run so deep]

[And as Robin's not pushing it, Nami changes the subject.] So, how many people do you know here?

Outside of people from our world? Not many. Or perhaps not any other than Frog-san. [And she gestures to Vash]

But there certainly many interesting people here.

[Blink. Turn to glance at Vash.]

Frog-san.

Mm. I thought he was a pervert at first but I believe it's mostly the Malnosso's doing.
