What: ...Nami's birthday party. 8|
When: Evening on the 4th July.
Where: The mikan orchard.
Summary: An impromptu last minute stubborn celebration of something that's fun.

[Tis a mingling post. Mingle! Seriously. The orchard's lit up, there is alcohol, there are snacks, there are mikan. There's also piles of coloured paper for much later, but that's another story.

[This is Noel. Noel standing by the entrance of the orchard in awe, pinwheel in one hand and a bag in the other. She's never been much for venturing out here at night, but now that she was actually here with people... she would have never guessed that it would look so pretty lit up. Truthfully, parties weren't really her thing... but she came here for Nami. And she would make sure to mark down the date for next year, yes.

And maybe, after everything that's occurred in the last few weeks... it's good to try and get her mind off of it, if only temporarily.]

[Vivi's having a grand old time, exploring the grove, running in and out of the trees (not always paying the most attention to where she's going, so be prepared for possible chibi princess collisions), pausing to collect the occasional sweet from the snack table, and just generally being all over the place. She's also on the lookout for more kids, to see if they'd like to play a game of tag or hide and seek.]

[Alexei was walking around just along the edge of the crowd. He wasn't in much of a conversational mood, but he wanted to help put up a few pinwheels. So people can find him working on pinwheels or just helping people who are having trouble making them. Seriously if they keep getting blown off like this, he's just going to start making them out of metal. :|

...Oh, he guess he's here to say Happy Birthday to someone too.]

[Masaomi feels like he might be too young for this. But really, while he was haggling or planning to haggle with CJ for the brilliant gift he was planning to give Katara, he heard Nami mention something on her post about this.

It makes him think of a brilliant gift. So brilliant, in fact, he's marching out here still in his cast to give it to her.

Ignore the scruff not quite beard mostly mustache he hasn't shaved in four weeks]

[Perona had definitely heard about the party for the pirate woman, and was actually very, very curious about it. As much as she didn't necessarily like most of the Straw Hats, Nami and the cook were the ones she tolerated the most of the crew thus far. They were the easiest to either manipulate or defeat. Or, just to amuse herself with. So imagine her surprise when she hears about a party - one that, gasp, she was not invited to.

So, after a bit of recon done by her hollow ghosts, Perona makes her way to the orchard, flanked by two of the said ghosties. Just let them try and stop her from joining in the festivities. That'll surely end out well, oh yeah...

Though the area is quite nice, she has to admit.]

[Aang shows up with anyone else from the house who winds up going. His arms are full of pinwheels - any that he could find around the item shop as well as some makeshift handmade ones. He looks for somewhere to put them and then just generally wanders around the party in search of friends.]

[So, Katara got a nap. Got spiffied up. Grabbed a pinwheel and likely a granddaughter and made her way over.

Also, she has something special in a thermos.]

[Sokka is HERE. And he has a present. And also apparently a grand niece or something. It's weird, okay. So here he is, MINGLING. And he has pinwheels or something I guess!]

[As promised, Raine will show up with a few pinwheels. And some cookies in a basket tied with an orange ribbon. An attempt at mikan-flavored cookies. We'll figure out how those turned out.

She has an eye out for Nami, but she'll chat with anyone who approaches her. It's not often that there are so many birthday parties in a row. And after the last month, they definitely are worth it.]

[She is a little early to come help if and where it is needed. She has several pinwheels of a regular size for--well whatever it is Nami wants to do with them, and a little bag of smaller ones to put in drinks. It took a bit making them but the library was helpful enough in that endeavor. She scatters the smaller pinwheels by the table with the drinks.

It doesn't seem enough somehow. Like there should be more. She should do more but here--perhaps the only thing that truly matters are friends]

[Sheena spent most of the day making pinwheels, so she's got this basketful to hand off to her pirate-friend-not!sister as soon as the birthday girl has a free minute. Not that it will surprise Nami, but she also brought tea. It tastes like citrus.

Then she'll spend her time walking around the lit-up orchard and, if you want, teaching you to also fold pinwheels. Or a number of other things she knows how to fold that are cool - paper shuriken, anyone?]

[As if Zoro couldn't not attend. He'll be wandering around the orchard, slightly drunk and grumpy and looking maybe, just a little, out of sorts with his new body. But surely that's just a trick of the sun. Zoro, uncomfortable? Never.

At some point he'll try (and fail) to make some paper pinwheels, then he'll go off to bother some people. Feel free to return the favor.]

[Albert arrives quietly and alone, taking in the orchards in the light allowed by the summer evening. He finds himself pocketing his gloves to peel at a mikan, and will later retreat to lean against a tree and take in the milling party-goers.]

Nami! Hey there birthday girl! I got a hint you might like some pinwheels. [And he's got a bunch of them. Along with some paper, ink, and a few pages of paper where he's tried to write out in detail some of the landscape of Gunsmoke.] I know it's not the way you'd probably REALLY make a map, but I thought it might at least entertain you for a bit to try.

[ Ikki was indeed grabbed by Katara, and probably was given a pinwheel from Grandpa Aang to present to Nami with a lot of ceremony. And then she probably spent the rest of the party running around with Vivi, since so far they're the only kids at the party. ]

[Chopper can be found trying to put together pinwheels for quite a while, with a varying amount of them sticking out of his hat - near the beginning he'll only have one, but as the evening progresses he'll have managed to jam seven or so of the things in. Not all of them necessarily well-made, mind you.]

[Once he figures he's made enough, though, they'll find their way into Nami's hands. And then he's free! He'll be keeping an eye out for anyone he knows, as well as spending a bit of time sampling the sweets and mikans.]

[Marco comes bearing alcohol wrapped with a pinwheel bow, and a readiness to tackle that origami stack and how.]

Nice day for a party, eh?

[Grune had heard Nami's earlier post and how she hadn't had a very happy birthday. She had also heard that her friend wanted some pinwheels. Those are something even she can do, and so on and off throughout the day, she had made a whole basketful with all kinds of brightly-coloured pieces of construction paper.

Now where should she put these? Hmm....]

[Fem!Luffy will be at the party as well! She will either be eating a ton of the food-- which is doing terrible things to her figure-- or shoving sticks up her nose and into her mouth which will look something like this.

She might also be yelling for Strawhats or even CR to watch as she tries to "break the record" and go for shoving three sticks into each nostril! She is yelling and laughing pretty hard, so anyone else feel free to notice all of this.]

[Welp, he's not invited, but hey. There's food and he's hungry. So Sabo's going to hang around where the snacks are, munching on everything he can get his hands on. Should he get caught, he could always greet the celebrant and ask permission to eat then. If that doesn't work, well... He's always been good at eat-and-runs!

Later on, after hearing the celebrant likes pinwheels, he eventually gets hold of some of those coloured papers and a pair of scissors and gets to work. Only problem: how the hell do you pinwheel? After a bunch of fail!wheels, he ends up making paper boats instead.

He's already made several small ones, a large one, and he's currently concentrating on his masterpiece yet. Feel free to bother him anytime!]

[If Marco and Sabo thought they could ditch him and go to a party, they had another thought coming. Because, yes, Ace is there now and carrying a little box with him! And also looking for a certain birthday girl because he has to a) congratulate her, and b) give her her present.

He'll be hanging around the food table (staying away from the alcohol because he's still sick), or just wndering around the orchard.]

[Still set in a red jumpsuit, Daisy arrives with a bag full of food -a lot of it, both for guests, for herself, and in case Luffy finds any of it-, and non-alcoholic drinks.

But again, given it is food, and since Nami happens to have a Captain that could have starved Segretar by himself (if not by having summoned Luceti's biggest eaters), she guards it far too jealously.]

[No surprises where Sanji spends most of his time: near the snack table, training a professional eye on the provisions. This is Nami's party so like hell he'll allow anyone to go hungry here.

Of course, he'll also wander around! Eventually... Okay so he might need to be coerced into action, being as focused on the food as he is, but if nothing else, he'll be sure to track down the birthday girl.]
