[Tis a mingling post. Mingle!  Seriously. The orchard's lit up, there is alcohol, there are snacks, there are mikan. There's also piles of coloured paper for much later, but that's another story.

Well, my people were called the air nomads. We followed the ways of airbending and mostly lived as free spirits.

Yeah! In my world, people can bend the four elements. So us Airbenders, we can do pretty much anything with the air around us - mostly windy stuff!

I'd love to! Now watch this closely. It's one of my favorite skills.

[He reaches into his shirt and pulls something out of a secretive hiding place, enclosed between his two hands. Then he slowly opens his hands...]

[And then there's three marbles spinning between his hands propelled quickly by air. Aang looks over with a giant grin.]

Tada!

Clever. [She watches for a moment then plucks one of the marbles out, rolling it between her fingers and into her palm. It feels like a regular marble to her]

I imagine you're much sought after for ships.

[After all, a wind blowing in the right direction could mean the difference between life and death]

[He gasps for a moment at Robin's trick and then laughs. In a variation on his normal trick, he spins the remaining marbles around a single pointed finger.]

Thanks! I guess I would be pretty helpful in ships with sails. I did save one from a storm once! But I prefer to travel by sky bison.

Sky bison? [She has never heard of those, not even remotely. She lightly tosses the marble back to see if he can catch it]

Does it live on clouds?

[He's only briefly surprised, but he manages to use some quick Airbending with his other hand to pull the marble into the circle of marbles on his first hand. Aang grins and goes back into the conversation seamlessly.]

Not on clouds, but they fly through them fall the time! They're the original Airbenders, and they acted as the companions for my people.

[She's impressed by his talent. He seems like someone who would be amusing to watch]

I see. Where I come from, there are cities in the clouds. Even a sea of clouds. I wonder if your sky bison would like it there.

Cities in clouds? That sounds amazing, I know I would love it there! Appa would, too. My people would have lived in the clouds if they could. But that's not possible back home, so instead they just lived in temples on high mountains.

And what do you worship high up in those mountains? Is it a kind of aesthetic practice to keep yourself isolated from others or is it just the best location?

Well there are a lot of spirits in the world whom we worship, especially ones associated with the air and sky. And... yeah, it's kind of a part of the airbender way to be detached from the rest of the world and try to live freely. That's why we live so high up, and we spend a lot of time traveling.

Detached and free? It seems like a lonely existence. Though I suppose that's the nature of the wind to touch many but never stay in the same place. Constant motion, ne?

Yeah, something like that. We still make friends and everything so it's not so lonely! But I guess I wound up getting more attachments than most Airbenders.

Friends or no, I think wandering too long is enough to make anyone lonely.

Did many of your attachments make it here?

Maybe. I didn't really wander too much to find our for myself before I met my friends. And... yeah, a whole bunch of them are here. We all live together. You might have met some of them already. Katara, Sokka, Toph, Zuko... S-Suki was here too until the other month...

Ah. [That answers more than one question. Though she doesn't know many of the names]

It's hard to lose someone... But you'll meet her again, right?

[After all even Lucti is only temporary]

Yeah. She's still alive and everything. Just not here anymore. [It was a harder toll on Sokka than him. Aang was only a little worried that he wasn't really sure at all what Suki was up to in the time he came from - but he assumed she would be helping them soon enough with the Yu Dao problem.] It's better for people to be back home, after all. Are there people from your world here, too?

Mm. There are many. [Too many and not enough at the same time] I sail with Nami-chan, but apart from our crew there are a few others.
