Who: Anyone attending Nami's birthday party. /o/
What: ...Nami's birthday party. 8|
When: Evening on the 4th July.
Where: The mikan orchard.
Summary: An impromptu last minute stubborn celebration of something that's fun.

[Tis a mingling post. Mingle! Seriously. The orchard's lit up, there is alcohol, there are snacks, there are mikan. There's also piles of coloured paper for much later, but that's another story.

[Seeing Robin already caught up, Vivi lowers her head and tries to run even faster. She manages to catch up with Robin, then inch past her, bit by bit...but she won't be able to keep this pace up for much longer. She's panting, already at her limit.]

[She is faintly impressed and wonders how well Vivi would do at the right age]

By the way, which tree was it that we were running to?

[Vivi slows, panting harder, then comes to a complete stop, shaking her head.] Um. [She looks around, not able to tell one tree from another anymore. She points to a tree behind them at random.]

That one.

[That one, hmm?]

Then you'd better start running.

[And she takes off though at a leisurely pace]

[It takes Vivi a moment to realize Robin is running back to the tree; she'd assumed the race was over since they already passed it. But what the heck! She begins to run as well, though still a little winded from her exertion before. Still, with the pace Robin is running, she slowly begins to gain.]

[So spirited. Robin slows her pace even more so they are matching beat for beat. She wonders if they will reach the tree together or if Vivi will pull ahead]

[Vivi laughs; it's not hard to see that Robin is slowing, and she doesn't think it's because the older woman is tired. Vivi keeps her pace steady, partly because she's still a little worn out from that earlier burst of speed and partly because it just seems fair to tie, since Robin is clearly holding back for her sake. They're nearly to the tree, and Vivi puts out her hand to tag it.]

[Robin waits until Vivi's fingers brush the bark, adding her own a second later. That was quite enjoyable]

You're fast, Princess-chan. [And she is.] You're a rather rough and tumble princess, aren't you? [But she speaks fondly]

[Vivi giggles. She's not quite sure what "rough and tumble" means, but she thinks she has a good idea from the context.]

I just like to play and have fun!

I can tell. You must be quite a handful at home. [But she says this fondly. Being a handful is nothing to feel bad about, after all.]

[She shrugs, though she knows darn well it's true sometimes. She usually does her best to stay out of trouble, at least.]

I help a lot, too!

I imagine you do.

[She moves to sit on the ground, leaning up against the tree]

Well now, Princess-chan. What shall we do?

Um. [She thinks for a moment.]

What was your favorite game when you were little?

[An interesting question. She remembers vaguely playing hide from the scholar but that was when she was very young. Otherwise she can't seem to recall]

I was never one who played much. I mostly read.

I can read pretty good! [For her age, anyway, though in all honesty her favorite parts of her books are still the illustrations. Vivi tilts her head inquisitively.]

What games did you play with your friends, then?

Well I didn't have many of those either. When I was young, it was better if I stayed out of the way. [Though she doesn't speak as if this bothers her.]

Oh. [Vivi finds the idea of that sad, though of course she won't say so to Robin.]

We could go have some cake!

[Robin just smiles]

Or we can have the cake come to us.

[And hands blossom from the table to put two forks on two cake plates, which then hop off on their own hands, skitterng across the grass toward them]

[Vivi can't see what's happening at the table from where she is, so it takes her a moment to catch Robin's meaning.]

Oh! [She turns around and sure enough, is greeted by the sight of two plates making their way through the trees. She claps her hands, plucking up the plate that stops at her feet.]

Thank you, Robin!

Not at all, Princess-chan. [And she picks up her own plate.] It looks good.

Uh-huh. I bet it's really good. Did Sanji make it?

[She spears off a relatively big bite and gives it a try. Her eyes close as she savors that first sweet taste.

Mmm.

Probably. [She takes a bite herself]
He's very good, ne? I'm almost completely spoiled for anyone else.

Mm! He's almost as good as Terracotta!

[Or...equally as good, she may have secretly decided, but loyalty dictates she give a slight edge to the home team.]

Someone who works in the palace? [She knows of a few of the palace staff, mostly the people that had been essential, but this is not a name she's too familiar with]

Mhmm! She's the head chef and... [Vivi pauses, trying to decide the best way to describe everything Terracotta does.]

I guess she's kind of the boss of the palace.
