[Tis a mingling post. Mingle!  Seriously. The orchard's lit up, there is alcohol, there are snacks, there are mikan. There's also piles of coloured paper for much later, but that's another story.

[Welp, he's not invited, but hey. There's food and he's hungry. So Sabo's going to hang around where the snacks are, munching on everything he can get his hands on. Should he get caught, he could always greet the celebrant and ask permission to eat then. If that doesn't work, well... He's always been good at eat-and-runs!

Later on, after hearing the celebrant likes pinwheels, he eventually gets hold of some of those coloured papers and a pair of scissors and gets to work. Only problem: how the hell do you pinwheel? After a bunch of fail!wheels, he ends up making paper boats instead.

He's already made several small ones, a large one, and he's currently concentrating on his masterpiece yet. Feel free to bother him anytime!]

I've had a lot of practice making paper boats! But pinwheels, not so much. [Brightens up at the offer.] You'll teach me? That's great! Thanks, lady!

Of course. [She passes him a slip of origami paper and starts to show him step by step] Where did you learn to make the boats?

[Taking the paper, and watching and attempting to copy the steps carefully.

Oh. Right, there's a question, isn't there.] I learned from a book. When I was little, I used to make lots of 'em and I'll send them off into the river. Thought they'd reach the sea that way! [But that was long ago, way before Ace and Luffy.]

Oh? You should have tracked them. Perhaps they did. Don't fold over so much there. [She points to a crease]

So in other words, you've always longed for the sea?

[...odd. There's another kid who Nami's never seen before. She wonders if he's part of Katara's new clutch of apparent grandchildren, honestly. That or someone she knows who's been chibified like Vivi.

She'll watch him make those boats for a while, and then decides to satisfy her curiosity one way or another. You have +1 looming navigator.]

[Oh Nami, if only you've seen him around the food table, maybe it would've given you a clue to whom he's related. Practicing proper dining habits wasn't exactly included in ASL's list of priorities.

He'll just blink in surprise at you, then look back down at his handicrafts.] Ah. Thanks, lady! Er--You do mean the boats, right? I've been told the pinwheels are no good. [Those are just sad, sad things.]

Yeah, the pinwheels kinda suck. [Nami: telling it how it is since '97. She reaches out for one of the boats, handling it delicately.] But these are great. You like sailing?

[It's okay, he can deal with honesty. Have some sheepish laugh.] A-ahahaha, they do, huh?! Guess I really can't give it to the celebrant. I thought maybe I can give the boats instead, but I'm not sure if they even like boats.

[He watches her take a boat with a smile, though it's not all happy now.] Yep. I only sailed once though.

I'll have you know on good authority that the celebrant loves boats. [She grins back at him, only to tilt her head fractionally as she catches the odd quality to that smile. Bad memory, maybe. She hands him back the boat and flops down on the ground to offer him a hand to shake.] Nami. This is my orchard.

[Oh boy, it's another kid she recognizes!] Hi, Sabooo!

[And Vivi comes running over from...wherever she was.]

[You mean you can recognize him with his mouth stuffed with food?! Good thing he's polite enough to swallow first before grinning back. Yay other kids!]

I didn't see you before! Me and Ikki were playing hide and go seek tag for a while. Maybe you want to play too, later? [Yeah, there's a definite hopeful note there. It'll be more fun with more than two players.]

Er... I was planning on making pinwheels for the celebrant after eating... [Plus he feels he'd already outgrown games like that, but hey... Spending time with new friends is always good.

So he dusts bread crumbs from his hands and dons his hat, smiling.] But yeah, sure!

Oh! Can I help you make pinwheels? Nami showed me how! [She beams.] We can make a whole lot, and then play more hide and seek tag!

Kid, there's enough to go around. Slow down. [Seeing as he made the majority of it, he feels it necessary to inform the glutton he doesn't need to impersonate a chipmunk.]

Tch, you really are Ace and Luffy's brother.

[Freezing in mid-shove of another food in his mouth. Crap! He's caught! The chipmunk turns at the voice, and is shocked to see a familiar face. BRB, trying to swallow everything at once. Yeah, definitely related to those two.

Whew! Okay, he can greet you with a grin now.] Hey, Sanji. Didn't see you there! Ahahaha, well I wasn't invited, you see. So I thought I'd help myself before I get chased out.

[concasse]

[The boy looks so unrepentant about his remark that Sanji can't help but smirk.]

No one's gonna chase you out. [He nods in the direction of the party, rummaging for a spare cigarette] Just relax; we're all here to have fun.

Oh, so you know who's party this is? [Looking around the guests.] Can you point them out to me, please? I thought I could at least greet 'em since I ate their food.

You haven't met Nami-san yet? [Huh. Sanji thought he'd be the one late to the party, in regards to meeting Sabo] She's the navigator of our crew.

[Oh sweet, Sabo's here! He'll just take a seat next to-- whoa, bro, those are some sick boats. Don't mind him picking up the little one.]

Heeeeh, these are pretty good, Sabo!

[Just line-facing at you bro.] Sick people shouldn't be out at night. [But then he sighs. There's no way Ace will do as he's told anyway.]

Ah, thanks. I didn't think I still knew how to make 'em, y'know. [He picks the larger one up.] It's been a long time since I last did.

[Just annoyed-facing at you back, bro.] Oi, come on, it's Nami's birthday. [Of course he won't. So why bother?]

Damn, I didn't know you were so good at these. Bet Nami'll like them.

[Simply shaking his head. And that's how far he's going to bother. Or maybe get you stuff that'll make you feel better later.]

There's no way I could tell you! It's not exactly a hobby of someone from the trash heap, right?! It'll ruin my cover. [Grinning, remembering that story he weaved on that first day.] And then Luffy joined us, and we had so much fun everyday, I didn't need any other hobbies than hanging out with you two.
