[She's faintly more literal minded and so she didn't know it was satire. Having no normative basis to compare it to, it had just seemed like another fairy tale. She listens to his opinions, entranced by the depth he's thought these things through. As if this is a real world, and perhaps it is. Who can say if they all aren't characters in some story somewhere, bought in to Luceti by the whims of enthusiastic readers. Though that is giving the Malnosso far too much humanity than she wishes to grant them. In either case, the point is that Marco is completely adorable in his enthusiasm and she's not quite sure what to do about it]

Well, perhaps if he didn't want her to change, he shouldn't have left. That happens even now, you know. Men and women leave their loved ones [And children] to become pirates, marines, follow their own dreams and what is left for those left behind to do but to cope with the change. Perhaps even to the point where they must change themselves.

After all, how could she know how Westley cared for her and perhaps she only wanted to bring him back. Perhaps she was lonely.

[Robin has for the most part been self-sufficient but it's occurred to her in her past to change for others. For acceptance. For love. In the end, it had never been worth it]

Well, he did tell her.

[He's amused by her response to it though.] I guess, admittedly I can't relate to that thinking. [He's spoiled and got to travel with his father after all.] I guess so long as they have no regrets and they're happy with the changes in themselves. But I think if you change yourself to share interests, that's fine. I mean... ahhh I really like flowers extra because of Vista... but don't tell Ace or him that I said that. Ever.

But I'm not sure "makeup and things" counts as a shared interest to Westley's more rugged choices. Then again, he took up the extra languages just in case she might like it, so I guess they both were trying to do better for each other... it's still silly though. Just on purpose.

Perhaps it's not a shared interest but I'm sure that he enjoys to look at it.

[She is beginning to understand the sentiment, though, a bit perhaps. Expanding knowledge to please someone else. There is a certain charm to it.She goes back to braiding the tufts. She's about half done now]

Eh, that's not as fun. It might take me ages to find another good book on my own.

At least tell me a genre I should go with.

I don't read fiction. [She frowns. Was this a sharing thing? Like the metaphor of the story? She can't tell if he's being literary or not] I like books on all topics so...I'm not entirely sure what to suggest.

But...perhaps...if you wish to share...[and did he? She's still unsure] You can learn to garden with me.

Ah I see, if you're not really a fiction fan then I guess it'd be harder to like the Princess Bride... Heh. Well if you ever want a reading partner or company, I'll brush up on history and we can trade thoughts. If you'd like. [He wanted to make the offer, but after saying it he's getting nervous about it. He normally reads alone, so she probably does too? Still, he thinks it'd be fun to have someone to bounce ideas off of about stories.]

That'd be interesting, but probably not. It tends to bounce back. [His hair is ridiculous like that clearly.]

Your hair is ridiculous then and I'm not sure I like it. [but she's teasing, of course, as might be evident as she plays with it. You do look absolutely ridiculous but on you, it works.]

[He blinks at the offer and loops a loose strand of her hair gently around a finger.] I'm not sure I could improve on perfection~

Besides, it's not exactly my forte. [Even playing around, he worries he'd mess something up. And then Izou (his okama brother, 16th division commander who loves geisha style wear) would have to disown him. Horrors.] The most I'd do is stick on a blue cowboy hat. [Because it'd be adorable. Let him have his fantasies.]

You give up too easily. [but she pulls her hair over her shoulder and leans back against him any way]

Perhaps I will wear a blue cowboy hat. [Slight pause] and what else?

[This evil horrible grin alone should say everything. Something along the lines of a cowboy hat. And high-heeled boots. Yeah, that's about it.]

I suppose the comfortable will depend on where we are. [Oh she knows just what she's asking]

So Robin will smile and watch you go and a hand or two may pluck at your pant legs to remind you she's still there but she'll mostly let you get to where you're going mostly unmolested]
