[Tis a mingling post. Mingle!  Seriously. The orchard's lit up, there is alcohol, there are snacks, there are mikan. There's also piles of coloured paper for much later, but that's another story.

[As promised, Raine will show up with a few pinwheels. And some cookies in a basket tied with an orange ribbon. An attempt at mikan-flavored cookies. We'll figure out how those turned out.

She has an eye out for Nami, but she'll chat with anyone who approaches her. It's not often that there are so many birthday parties in a row. And after the last month, they definitely are worth it.]

[A month full of birthdays definitely sounds more fun than other events of late, even if just as chaotic in its own way *_* Nami is semi-distracted handing off a handful of pinwheels to Vivi to run off with, but she catches sight of Raine shortly after and waves her over.] Raine!

[wise_maiden]

[She notices the wave from the corner of her eye, and turns properly in time to hear her name being called.]

So there you are. Happy birthday, Nami.

Thank you! [Nami meets her halfway, looking pleased by Raine's full hands.] You baked?

[COOKIES. ...well, Nami doesn't know much about Raine's cooking prowess. |Da]

Yes! [She holds out the basket to her.] They're mikan cookies. I hope you enjoy them!

I bet I will! [..she might. 8|a Nami takes the basket and peers into it with an antipatory look and then bounces on her feet like a little kid.] Come into the cottage! We can drop the pinwheels off and test these out!

[She is one of Sanji's students but this is effectively an experimental recipe. Put Nami's tastebuds to the test!

... Actually it is pretty exciting having someone get excited over her cooking. So Raine is just as bouncy as Nami is.]

Sounds fair to me. Lead the way!

[Nami takes Raine into the cottage, which is a reasonably simplistic and sparsely furnished place with lamps because there's no electricity out this way. But it's lit well enough! She puts the cookies down in the small kitchen and digs out a plate to put them on.] So did you come up here by yourself?

[wise_maiden]

I did, yes. [If she had known that certain other people were planning on showing up, she might have gone along with them. But there was always the walk home for that.] It looks like you have quite the turnout already.

[mikangirl]

[Ah well, she really wasn't expecting Albert to be here after all, but she'd kind of been curious.] Given the last minute demand, I've gotta say I'm both surprised and happy about that. Maybe they just like the taste of my mikan.

[...or are masochists, one and all.]

[He'd been casually showing up at parties after she'd already gotten there. It wouldn't be the first time.]

I'd say the timing was probably just about right for most of them, with the repairs coming in and the village being sorely in need of something positive. Add that in with your magnetic personality, and you've got yourself a recipe for a celebration.

[Heh.] You know, you're the second person to tell me I have a magnetic personality. I think I like the compliment. [She busies herself balancing the cookies semi-artistically on the plate-- which means she makes a token effort, becuase let's face it, we're gonna eat those things.] I'm glad though, if things have been that harsh for people. I know I certainly needed the distraction.

Between the draft, the storm, and the clean up, it's much more enjoyable to celebrate with friends. So perhaps we should be thanking you for having something to celebrate this week.

So far. Today's gone a long way to making up for the last week, that's for sure. [Her smile is much warmer.] And if it helps other people to unwind, then I don't have to feel so guilty about being demanding.

[Not that she really does, but... well.]

Well, it's a demand for a good cause, and I'm certain your housemates were chomping at the bit to do something like this anyway.

[concasse]

[Raine you... cooked. Sanji double-takes at this fact when he spots the woman, but quickly berates himself for the momentary lapse into horror. She's been showing actual improvement in her cooking lessons, after all!]

Raine-chan, so good to see you here~! [And in weather that isn't 5% visibility]

Good evening, Sanji. [He earns a warm smile.] I bet you wasted no time in helping set all of this up.

[concasse]

None of the crew did. [Grinning lightly at the presentation] I was starting to worry she wouldn't get back in time for her own birthday.

[Strictly speaking, she still missed it by a day, but better than a week]

The timing seems to have worked out well for her. It helps that she wasn't too exhausted after returning as well.

[concasse]

[Honestly, he's just glad she didn't crash into his bed again, during her return.

... And maybe equally disappointed but. Such is life]

That, and by now I think Nami-san's just that used to missions.

She's been sent on a lot of those recently, hasn't she? Sometimes it feels like I only have a chance to speak with her when she comes back from them.

[concasse]

In that case, maybe Raine-chan and Nami-san should do something together later~!

[wise_maiden]

It doesn't sound like a bad idea. I wonder what we could do?

[concasse]

She's a fan of shopping - oh, and the hot springs! [Pausing, and then he adds almost reluctantly] And the beach.

[wise_maiden]

[Hm. Those all sound casual enough.] I suppose I could bring it up to her sometime. I don't usually have days set aside for that.
