Beach Party!?

Who: Anyone who wants to come!
What: BEACH PARTY! (For Katara or something)
When: In the evening, about 7PM
Where: On the beach! Somewhere!
Summary: It's Katara's 17th and while all friends of Team Avatar are invited, anyone else can gatecrash too.
Rating: E for everyone (for God's sake there's going to be seven year olds!)

[A few days before the birthday, Katara's housemates began birthday preparations. Not quite entirely secret, but they made invitations, told friends, spread the word, and so on. Birthday on the beach. Be there or be a loser McButtface without friends.

And so there's a party! With tables! And chairs! And umbrellas! And the sun is setting, but the Malnosso had no taste and put the ocean on the east side of Luceti, so it's a sunset over the mountains which isn't as cool as an ocean sunset. But anyway. There's a volleyball net and, you know, an ocean to swim in. Also Sokka ordered a generator with his mission points and abducted the karaoke machine. It was mostly to provide some music, but people can get up and sing with it too.

As for the food? There's a table for that. It's a bring your own dish affair, since Katara is kind of their team cook and they can't exactly make her own birthday meal, right? So anyone coming can bring whatever they like and set it out. The gang brought some meals of their own, so there's bound to be some cool dishes from the air nomads, water tribe, and fire nation. And cake. A big chocolate cake. Someone made it! We don't know who. (Feel free to dibs being the baker or something if you want.)

And a table! A table for presents! Bring a present, set it there. It's very organized.]

((ooc: It's out on the beach and just a general sort of party affair, so feel free to have characters show up even if they're not friends with the birthday girl. It's a free for all. SO YOU BETTER MINGLE OR THERE'S GONNA BE WORDS.

What're those? An' why're they the only ones...?

Yeah, but they're really good at it. And I don't really know why. There were just three animals that inspired bending: the dragons for firebending, the sky bison for airbending and the badger moles for earthbending.

Wait wait, so humans got their powers from those creatures?

Kinda. In my world, some people can bend and some can't. Benders always have the ability to bend since they were born, but they never knew how to until those animals taught them a long time ago. The only teachers that weren't really animals were for Waterbending. Waterbending was learned from the moon and the ocean - but their spirits did take on the form of koi fish.

[How the hell do you learn powers from the moon. That just doesn't make sense.]

I guess that ain't as weird. Thinkin' about humans jus' - makin' whirlpools or breathin' fire or whatever - all on their own makes me feel funny. Havin' it come from somewhere makes more sense.

That's true. Everything comes from something. Maybe it'd help a little more if you could see it for yourself.

[As he talks, he begins to wave his arms above the water and starts to make the water around him swirl lightly.]

[Sapphire's eyes widen, and she paddles backwards a little so as not to get in the way.]

Watch this, Sapphire! This is one of my favorite moves. It's called the octopus stance!

[Aang bends the water around him into tentacle-like shapes which he waves around. To demonstrate, he darts a few in random directions. Then to complete the illusion, he raises more water to encapsulate his body and makes a goofy face.]

[He withdraws the part covering him, but he continues to wave the "tentacles" around.]

An octopus! It's a sea creature that's supposed to have eight arms.

Like a Tentacruel!

[Her wings are waggling behind her in delight, making tiny splashes.]

Ooh, can ya juggle balls a' water, too?

I guess that's another Pokemon, huh? [He laughs.] That's a funny name! But yeah, I can do some water juggling!

[And it soon becomes so. He raises some little blobs of water and tosses them between his hands- although he uses bending rather than actual tossing, so it's really the illusion of juggling.]
