I don't know. Everything looks so different like this. We could be anywhere.

[He looks up at one of the trees. Too tall to climb. Instead it alerts them both: "There's a Panda in Luceti, didn't you hear? His favorite food is bamboo, but back home, he gets it all from a polar bear! Isn't that strange?"

Sokka kicks it. That's not helping.]

[Aang smiles at the tree.]

There is a Panda, I talked to him! He's not like Hei Bai at all. [Pause] Did the tree say that?

[markofthewise]

Yeah. They've been doing that. Usually what they're saying isn't so nice.

[savedtheworld]

You mean they make fun of people, too?

[markofthewise]

Meaner than that, really. [Still staring up.] Do you have your glider with you?

[savedtheworld]

Yeah! [He twirls his staff around and was totally holding it this whole time okay, forgetting the gossip for the moment.]

Think we should try some gliding?

[markofthewise]

Yeah, it's our best bet to get our bearings. Fortunately thanks to our diminished weight, airbending should be a lot easier for you to manage too.

[If he was right, Aang would be able to carry them indefinitely if it came to that.]

[savedtheworld]

Good idea. Let's see if my airbending goes along with your science!

[The staff is flipped into glider form and he holds out an arm.]

Uh... grab on!

[markofthewise]

Just don't drop me.

[He took Aang's hand. This was absolutely his least favorite way to fly.]

Of course not. It hasn't been that long since I've glided with someone. Alright, time for take-off.

[And so, once Sokka's securely holding on, Aang has the glider take off. Sokka might have been right. It felt a lot... easier to lift them. It was fun. Aang brought them closer to the tree to skim alongside it, giving a small laugh at this feeling of freedom.]

[markofthewise]

[Okay, okay. Don't freak. Don't freak. Stay calm. Stay calm.

When they get close to the top...]

Land up there!

Right there? Hold on, let's do a cool trick first!

[He swerves to the side and begins flying in the opposite direction, then suddenly reverses to bring them back towards landing at the top of the tree.]

See, it's like we're a boomerang!

AANG!

[WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT. THEY DON'T NEED TO DIE.]

Isn't this fun?!

[He shouts as he swoops into the landing, slowing the glider so that they land neatly on their feet.]

[markofthewise]

No! That was not fun!

[Sokka clings to the branch. Glares for a moment. Then climbs a little higher to look around.]

[savedtheworld]

[Aang flips the glider back into staff form and walks along the branch.]

Really? I was having the time of my life. Either way, here we are!

[markofthewise]

Yeah. And here? Not even close the village.

[He can't even SEE the village and they have a pretty decent view up here.]

And there's no doors either.

[savedtheworld]

We could try to just keep flying in one direction and see what happens.

[markofthewise]

Well, judging from the sun's position, we need to go northeast. But I'm not sure it can be trusted with all the... stars.

[Stars with the sun. It throws everything off.]

[savedtheworld]

[He looks up with Sokka. Those are stars up there with the sun alright.]

At least they're pretty. But either way, that direction's our best bet, right?

[He glances in a direction that feels mortheasty.]

[markofthewise]

Yes. But I'm trying really, really hard to think of alternatives. That's going to take you forever to fly us that far.

[savedtheworld]

You're right, fun as that would be... but what if I call Appa?

[markofthewise]

Your whistle may not be loud enough at this size. [But it can't hurt to try. Still. He's thinking.] We just need to find a door, though. What if we... made one?

[savedtheworld]

But how? There's no such thing as woodbending, and it wouldn't count as a door if I just burned a hole.

[If only he had his alchemy notes right now. He and Ed were actually working on just that, in preparation for some logging.]

Well, maybe you could earthbend one? Then we could-

[And then the tree suddenly boomed out: “I heard that Lowell guy has a thing for cat ears. He can't even look directly at someone wearing them without zoning out!"]
