[Now its Saori's turn to be a little taken aback. She tilts her head to one side, then the other, examining him. She could feel that deep down he was the tiniest bit more respectful and mindful of her nature now. Now she could be sure that he wasn't just fooling around, like a little fox.

She stooped down to look him squarely in the eye, her gaze meeting his for a long moment before she said anything.]

That makes me happy. There aren't many people who've seen that side of me. And I like when people are mindful of the full extent of who I am before deciding if I really want them in my life.

You know, its a grave thing thats been done to you. If I have the opportunity, I will make our keepers suffer for hurting my friend the fox.

[He didn't flinch, nor did his gaze stray from hers when she bent down. She had given him her truth after two meetings and too much teasing. It was only right that he try to give his to her.]

I'm honored that you want me in your life then, Saori-san. It's an honor...and a pleasure.

[He smiled bitterly at her vow. She was barely more than a stranger, but she was all ready calling him a friend and vowing vengeance for his sake.]

Thank you--but it was my choice. I made a few mistakes, but it was either I make them or someone who is barely half my age would have. It wasn't right even think about sending children in there, but it's also not right to have them here.

We're all going to make them suffer, Saori. We all have our grievances against them, but any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated by everyone here.

[He studied her in silence for a tense beat as she spoke, soaking in the deeper part of her words and meaning. He was just a man, and as such only considered options he knew to be physically possible in his plans and wishes...but she was a god, and capable of so much more.

He had faith in his friends, even if his actual trust was sketchy at best. Faith in religion was something he lost long ago, but he knew what he saw when she touched him.

...Hai. [It was said thoughtlessly, and intended for both her explanation and her gentle order. Lupin carefully makes his way to his feet and sways on his unsteady legs as his fatigue catches up to him. A proper night's rest would help.
