[After lots of flailing and swimming, he surfaces again.]

Your rock stairs... are made of jelly!

Ugh, it's this weird experiment! It's made the trees start talking, too. Can't you just...wade down?

I'm trying. This stuff is hard to move in and I'm not exactly [glup] myse-aaaaahhh!!

[He's going to slip, fall, and... land on her head. Good thing he's not very big right now. But she's going to have rocky jello in her hair.]

[metalbends]

[Oh good here he DID HS JUST LAND ON HER HEAD??

WHY IS HE SO SMALL??

Toph plucks Sokka off her head and drops him promptly on the ground.]

What the--! You're so small!

[Ouch. That was not very comfortable. Sokka glares up at Toph, a novel experience to be sure, and scrambles to his feet.

Oh jeez. He's smaller than he thought. He's what? Knee high to her?]

Yeah. I kind of noticed that already. It's a door thing.

[metalbends]

...Great. And you're still singing. I guess that's a weird experiment thing, too.

It must be only in your head. Singing is the last thing on my mind.

[Well. It would be, if she didn't keep talking about it.]

[UGH.] Whatever. You kind of just completely interrupted my practice routine.

Well, fine, excuse me for ending up squirrel sized!

[And then she chuckles.]

[And now she's laughing at him. So he's just gonna turn around and glare at a tree or something.]

I can walk just fine, thanks. I just need to find a new door.

[He picks a direction! It doesn't matter. Just because he can. Too bad he really is rather slow like this.]

We're in the middle of the woods! You're not just gonna find some magic door out here.

Maybe not, but I don't need carried!

[STILL WALKING at his silly little pace. Maybe the New Feather station is near. That has a door.]

[...She knows this is mean, but she can resist it.

She picks bitty Sokka up.]

Don't be ridiculous! It's gonna take you ages.

[Wow, Toph. Wow. That is far crueler than all those times she's used earthbending on him.]

Hey! What are you doing!? Put me down! [He tries to squirm loose but it's kind of no use.]

[metalbends]

[Hey, this is pretty fun! It's bugging Sokka in a whole new way. Maybe this experiment weirdness isn't so bad.]

Relax! I'm just giving you a lift.

[markofthewise]

Only I didn't ask for a lift! Come on, this is demeaning!

[He makes another token effort to resist. This is absolutely the worst.]

[metalbends]

Oh, stuff it, I'm doing you a fav--OW!

[Toph has tripped. Yes, tripped. Toph. What the heck? How did she not feel a lift in the earth?

Except...she's suddenly not walking on earth anymore. It's something... sticky now.]

[markofthewise]

[Sokka clings to her arm when she trips, having no desire to go flying. You know. In spite of wanting to go free.]

Uhh, Toph? Be careful. It looks like the ground is covered in chewing gum. A lot of chewing gum.

[metalbends]

Gum? Gross!

[Even Toph thinks that's nasty. She doesn't want to be lying in chewed-up junk that's been in someone else's mouth.

Except that it's especially sticky gum, and she can't really get up.]

I'm stuck!

[Sokka manages to extract himself enough to get on her back. At least he's free from the gum.]

Yeah, you're really in it now. Can you feel the earth at all?
