[It always changes someone. Amelia almost says it, because she knows how true it is--but Archie's already said how horrible things are, having come back. She won't make that worse.

Then he asks something of her, as if it's so simple. Sure, there are countless things that could've been different: if they weren't victims, if the doctors hadn't refused. If she hadn't ever gotten sick. Amelia's aware of the factors.

It doesn't make it so simple though.]

I had a chance to kill him. [A non-answer.]

[He nods. That's all the response he really has to that. He relaxes.]

They seem to have gone on to talk about others now, at least.

[Amelia nods, although she's trying her best not to listen. She doesn't want to hear anything else, not about her or another person.]

I didn't. [He hasn't asked, but Amelia says it anyway. Maybe it'll keep him from worrying about her.] I knew that wasn't what she wanted.

[Amelia's still got her arms folded in front of her, but she turns toward the direction where the village should be.]

Great. Looks like we've suffered enough for the woods to set us free.
