[ She pauses, turning to lift something from the counter; a large cooking book. ]

[That's a big cookbook. Saleh ponders about the simple salad, as he really doesn't want to put Julia through the trouble of cooking for him. But then he catches the scent of the pie that she had put in the oven just as he wound up here. He raises his head slightly, sniffing the air.]

...Do you have something cooking already? I can smell something...it smells like a pie.

Yes, I am preparing an apple pie. Would you like a slice of that, then when it is finished?
