Who: Helios and pretty much everyone who replied to this post
What: The demon god Apep which affixed itself to Helios’ soul has awoken.
When: August 6th-9th
Where: Starting around house 44 then mainly around town and the woods
Summary: Basically Helios gets possessed and causes all sorts of chaos and destruction that the evil god, Apep, is known for causing!
Rating: R for lots of violence

[ It’s strange how the twist of events of a simple evening walk could change much of everything. In an instant, that was Luceti’s way of things, changing things in an instant. And Helios never even saw it coming. There were still parts of that night and parts of his soul that he never truly understood. But there were always ways of finding out. They say hands on experience is one of the best ways of learning. And this is a lesson he and several others won't soon forget. ]

[It's still no use, even with both bells ringing the spirit can still break free of her hold. As he fades into shadows Sabriel slips her bells back into the bandolier, drawing her sword as soon as Saraneth and Kibeth are secure. A bead of sweat dripping from her her brow she tenses as the back of her neck bursts out into gooseflesh, her head snapping up to spot the man falling at her with a new blade.

With a shout of surprise Sabriel swings her sword up to meet his, trying to use his momentum to get a push away and gain some distance but his strength was more than she expected. Sparks flash between blades and Sabriel is pushed hard in a backwards stumble.]

[ This is not a spirit at all Sabriel. Gods and spirits are rather different things and Apep if quite tenacious if his myths and legends are anything key to his personality and actions. Apep laughs as he skids a little backwards from his own power with the blow to Sabriel. He smiles then and takes several more steps towards her never once allowing her to rest from his onslaught. He'll slash his sword in a tightly controlled arc to her right as he takes a lunge forward as well. ]

[As Helios closes in on her it's all she can do try parry and redirect his strikes, each hit taxing her more and more until the last hit to her side she manages to block with the flat of her blade. Arms trembling from the exertion there's no way she can avoid the lunge or move her blade to defend herself. She was way in over her head.

Tensing she braces herself as best as she can. This was going to hurt.]

[ And hurt it will except...Apep stops to look at the young girl before him with some interest. His sword stops just above her cheek and he'll cock his head to one side as if finding himself a rather fascinating artifact. A low 'hm' escapes his throat as he moves a bit closer. ] How...interesting. You would do much better to serve me, I believe.

[ And with a flick of his wrist he'll send a powerful burst of spiritual energy coursing right at her. A broad smile on his face as he watches with blatant amusement and mirth. ]

[Flinching as the blade arcs towards her head she squeezes her eyes shut and waits for the strike that never lands. At that soft hum she opens her eyes, following the dark gleam of his blade up to meet his gaze. She had never thought someone as kind and gentle as Helios could have such a dark expression.]

H-Helios-

[And then her body fills with pain, white hot and searing as it shoots through her. Choking out a surprised scream she tries to throw herself away from him but she can't move; as the dark energy courses through her body her Charter mark abruptly flares to light in the darkness, what innate power that lives in her blood trying to fight off Apep's darkness from the inside.]

[ A crooked smile when Sabriel whispers the wrong name. ] Helios is no more. I am Apep your new master!

[ The dark energy swirling around Sabriel only gets thicker and more powerful. Apep will grab at her shoulder shoving her again the wall as he does so. The ghostly snake rearing up from behind him lets out a loud hiss as the darkness from the floor and walls slowly slide towards Sabriel. Like a living sludge it'll try to envelope her in every aspect of her being, overtaking her power and turning it into something dark. ] You will make a fine addition. So much latent energy and power. So unreserved. How lucky I was for you to stop by.

[As the dark energy grows stronger Sabriel's scream turns sharper, the light from her Charter mark starting to flicker under its pressure when Helios...no, Apep, slams her back against the wall. Sword clattering to the ground Sabriel is powerless to fight Apep's grip, the darkness oozing onto her from the walls and his power forcing its way through her veins. Gasping a strained sob her eyes roll back as the golden light of her Charter is smothered by the enveloping darkness.]

[ Apep's cackling is all but bone chilling as the black snakes wrap around Sabriel's form and fight to overtake the golden light and the power of the Charter. His eyes flicker red as a black gaseous serpent is embedded into the other's chest, sealing his power over her and her will. ] You will do as I will now. You obey no one but me now.

[Her body shudders as the last of Helios' dark power sinks into her, searing hot to everything it touches and then...

Like a door being slammed closed she relaxes, her eyes cracking open to look up almost reverently at Apep. As the Free magic is released throughout her body a fire sparks behind her eyes; a dark, hateful flame just waiting to consume Life and order, everything the Charter stood for. Dipping her head in submission she murmurs.]

What is your command, my lord?

[ At those words Apep's smile turns twisted and cruel. Good it had worked a bit harder than most but she was now under his ruling. ] Destroy whatever it is you wish. As long as there is chaos and destruction my power will reign. Make yourself unnoticed for now and then when the time is better suited you may use whatever need be to harm these pathetic fools.

[ Apep will step away then and as if on cue to Saori's approaching presence he'll stiffen. He must leave and quickly and without saying much of anything he'll turn to press two fingers against Sabriel's head hopefully putting her into a dormant state until the darkness has more room to root itself within her. A smirk as he looks about the room once more and then he'll dash out into the humid night air. ]
