Who: Helios and pretty much everyone who replied to this post
What: The demon god Apep which affixed itself to Helios’ soul has awoken.
When: August 6th-9th
Where: Starting around house 44 then mainly around town and the woods
Summary: Basically Helios gets possessed and causes all sorts of chaos and destruction that the evil god, Apep, is known for causing!
Rating: R for lots of violence

[ It’s strange how the twist of events of a simple evening walk could change much of everything. In an instant, that was Luceti’s way of things, changing things in an instant. And Helios never even saw it coming. There were still parts of that night and parts of his soul that he never truly understood. But there were always ways of finding out. They say hands on experience is one of the best ways of learning. And this is a lesson he and several others won't soon forget. ]

[ That onset of fatigue is strange. Funny he was fine a second ago. Maybe he was putting too many hours into the library? Either way he keeps himself steady despite the rushing tiredness. ] Oh goodness. I-I don't think you'll have to worry about that happening, dear. Buffy is...very proactive when it-it comes to that sort of thing.

[ He gives a wavering little smile as he nods. ]

That's good. Things shouldn't be that simple, should they? I'd much prefer I was killed by someone who could never be found.

S-Somethings are but, well, Luceti does make things complicated sometimes. [ He blinks looking at her curiously. ]

Why do you say that? [ He sways a little before he finally takes a shaky seat. A soft sight escaping him. ] I-I don't think you have to worry about such things while here. Everyone tends to protect everyone else. Luceti does have a tight group of defenders and protectors.

[The thought occurs to Katie that really she should move on before the poor man falls into the fountain or something, but what she's doing isn't lethal and this is a bone she's been worrying at for some time.] Do you think so? Do you think they ever missed someone that might have needed it?

[ The question raises an alarm in Helios as he looks tiredly back at the young girl. He offers her a compassionate smile. ] I think that...they wouldn't do it intentionally, no. Luceti is a big place and having only so many people patrolling at night even things like this can slip through the cracks. It-it's very comforting I admit but, ah, well I don't think Buffy would let people she knows or even doesn't know come to harm if she knew about it.

[ A slight sigh. ] Luceti however doesn't help aid in such things either. What with all the craziness that occurs around here it's probably hard sometimes f-for people to-to keep p-promises. I-I know that...a similar thing happened to me and a good friend of mine. [ He shudders unconsciously as he remembers the mask and Halloween and how Giles stabbed through his hand, the left hand which was still scarred and barely able to close. ]

[Katie's face softens. Really, she knows she's not being entirely fair. It's her own fault things happened, after all.]

What happened?

[ Helios flinches a little at the question and shakes his head. The usual dull ache becoming a bit more stronger by the minute. ]

A...good friend of mine. He, um, d-did something a-against his will. But it-it wasn't his fault. I-I don't blame him for it either. His actions were a p-product of the ex-experiment. [ He doesn't mention what happened exactly. But judging from his tone it wasn't anything good. ]

Experiments aren't very nice here, are they? [She wonders distractedly whether someone killed her by accident, then. Maybe it's the same sort of thing. But then they would have come forward, wouldn't they?] Did he say he was sorry afterward?

No they aren't. [ He sounds a bit sad as he says that. ] He-he did. E-Even if, if I didn't want him to because I-I knew it wasn't something he could control.

[ Helios is a hypocrite for saying such things. But, well, it was true. It wasn't Giles' fault given the circumstances. ]

Do you think it makes people feel better sometimes to say they're sorry?

I think it does, yes. It-it at least shows you that-that they're willing to ch-change and make amends. [ He'll fidget here and sigh tiredly. He feels even more drained talking about this. ]

It helps to-to talk about it as well.

Then it's good that he apologised. [She reaches out and pats him on the knee as if she's imparted some sage truth.] It means he doesn't want to do it again, too.

Y-Yes. I-I doubt he wanted to do it in the first place, really. [ And here Helios will shift uncomfortably in his seat. The memories were something he rather not have to scrounge up. ] Ah, well. I-I apologize for, um, getting dour with this conversation.

Night time is for being dour. It's rather fun if you do it on purpose. [She smiles fractionally.]

...how are you feeling?

Ah. W-Well it can be...happy too. I-I suppose it d-depends on the company. Which-which I'm not being very good a-at right now. [ A shaky laugh. His tone a bit lower and slightly off from the normal one he'd have. He blinks then, at the question, and looks at Katie. ] Oh. I'm...I'm fine.

Mm. You don't sound very well. [She's probably making him very tired, she thinks. Katie stands.] Perhaps you should go home. I wouldn't want you to get eaten by vampires.

[ Helios' eyes follow her as she stands. He smiles a little and shakes his head. ] Are you sure? I-I don't really like the idea of leaving you by yourself. I-I just need some sleep is all.

But then you might fall asleep and fall face first into the fountain, and that would be terribly bad for you. [Katie gives him a faintly worried look, because skimming his glamour is one thing and draining him is another. As it is, she's approaching what she'd consider to be safe limits.] If it makes you feel better, shall I wait inside the restaurant?

[ Helios chuckles at that. That would be rather dreadful, yes. ] That, um, might make me feel better, yes. At least in there, there's other people to, um, look after you.

[ So he will not be ill at ease leaving you all on your own Katie. ]

Then I shall do that. [Gravely she holds out a hand.] It was nice to meet you.
