Who: Luce [personal profile] inheavenslight and YOU
What: Its the 11th, do you know where your local 30-something manchild is?
When: The 11th
Where: All over town
Summary: Luce is meandering about the town, he is trying to learn about it and adapt. But this is him we're talking about.
Rating: PG-13
The odd thing about Luce, that despite is overly sheltered life, lack of common sense and ingrained ignorance, was that no matter what he would be naturally curious. Today, one could see the blond walking about town investigating thing, watching people, and feeling random items in stores.

He wanted to see how people survived here, and being here for just over a month had taught him a lot of things but at the same time nothing. So, what was this man to do? Besides, adapt.

Eggman jumps slightly in surprise when he realises someone has been watching him. He quickly regains his composure after glancing at Luce.

"And that is why robots make better soldiers than humans." He replies as he changes a figure on his diagram.

Eggman would usually laugh at such a question. But, as he folds up his blueprint and faces Luce, he finds himself unable to.

"You're not the first to ask me that question." He twiddles the end of his moustache briefly while he thinks of how to put it. "Robots at their simplest are servants, but being mechanical they don't have feelings like you or I, so they're less likely to rebel. I'm sure you've heard of the Malnosso's little kidnappers."

"Then they're defective," Eggman replies darkly. "Robots with advanced artificial intelligence sometimes believe they have feelings. Such robots are of no use to me."

Eggman considers this. He's been known to toss a robot or two out on the beach when it wasn't doing as it was told.

"I've been known to show that mercy," he replies ambiguously. "Though it's usually more productive to rebuild them and iron out the problem."

"Gone, of course." Said in an almost 'well duh' type tone. "Their brain starts out from scratch, if you will. None of the old memories or programming. I'm only talking about the combat robots, of course. Those are the ones that get dangerous when they rebel."

"I don't think I've ever had a chef's uprising among my ranks." Eggman thinks about that and then briefly laughs at the idea. "Ba ha! Could you imagine it?"

"I doubt that," he says, waving his hand dismissively. "What else would they do? If they weren't cooking for me they'd have no purpose."

It's over now! :)

Eggman thinks about that for a second before he starts laughing. "Ho ho ho! That's not actually a terrible idea." He grins. "The solution is obvious - they can have their little restaurant and send all the profits my way. It's only fair!"

"They are the most direct threat, after all. Why worry about chasing down a piece of junk frycook if it's easier to just build myself a new one?"

"Why would I want to do that?" Eggman's mind works on a completely different track from Luce's. He really can't think of why one would want to ask a machine silly questions.

"And you think a broken robot could tell me how to improve my designs? You've got to be kidding!"
