Where: All over town
Summary: Luce is meandering about the town, he is trying to learn about it and adapt. But this is him we're talking about.
Rating: PG-13
The odd thing about Luce, that despite is overly sheltered life, lack of common sense and ingrained ignorance, was that no matter what he would be naturally curious. Today, one could see the blond walking about town investigating thing, watching people, and feeling random items in stores.

He wanted to see how people survived here, and being here for just over a month had taught him a lot of things but at the same time nothing. So, what was this man to do? Besides, adapt.

Grune glances over at him, then turns to face him more fully, a brilliant smile on her face. "Oh, hello, Judge! Are you here to find something nice to eat?"

He nodded weakly, "Um. I was looking for simple to take home."

[lostinmyway]

"Hmm...." One finger slips up to rest against her cheek. "Well, what about some rolls? They're very good."

[inheavenslight]

"What kind of rolls would you suggest?" Luce knew there were lots of types, and one would never know with Luceti what was good or bad.

Grune looked about the bakery for a bit. There were lots and lots of good things to eat there, so sometimes it could be a little hard to decide.

After a moment, her gaze came to rest on the rolls already in her basket--large, soft, and baked only that morning. She picked up one and held it out to him.

"Here. Why don't you try one of these?"

Luce takes it and smiles. "Thank you very much." Watch as he is like a kid and instantly rips off a small bit of bread to eat it. He smiles a little at the taste and something inside of him relaxes, fresh bread always did that to him.

"This is really good."

...Are we doing past tense or present tense? @_@

Grune doesn't mind his manners at all; instead, she smiles to see him enjoying the roll so obviously.

"The bakery always has such nice things to eat. Everything here is very good."

Sorry, I was doing other tags present tense and fell into habit. DD: So whichever you prefer D:

"Really, what else would you suggest?"

She thinks about that for a bit. "Well, the cinnamon rolls are delicious, and so are all the different kinds of bread, and the cakes. Oh, and the cookies are very good, too!"

Really, she'll probably end up naming everything in the bakery if he gives her half a chance.

Luce is giving her a whole change as he tries to take a little of everything she suggests. "I am going to try and stock up on foods. I was told to enjoy some of the things here so I am trying."

Her smile is bright and approving as she says, "It's always good to try lots of different things. Maybe you'll find a new favourite food."

What? And abandoned potatoes? "I don't know, I like potatoes the best."

"Potatoes are very nice, aren't they? When mine are ready a little later, would you like some?"

It's only this year that Grune has made a foray into vegetable gardening; it was more the domain of one of her former housemates. But it seems as though all green and growing things get along with Grune--even potatoes--and so Stella's vegetable garden is very much thriving.

"You don't mind?" he is excited, obviously.

His excitement brings a smile to her face, and she answers warmly, "Of course not. I'd be happy to share with you."

"That is very nice of you." He couldn't understand why so many people were like that here.

"Thank you--that's very kind of you to say." She spends a moment considering how many she has planted, then adds, "I don't know how many I'm going to have this year, but I know I can bring you at least a few."

"I helped weed a garden recently, maybe if you need help I can help there too?"

Luce in all likelihood has no idea what he's getting into as Grune's face lights up at his offer. Grune has a truly impressive number of gardens, all perpetually needing weeding. Even if he only helps her with the vegetable one, it's still going to be quite the workload.

"Oh, that would be lovely! It would be so much fun to work in the garden together!"

He has zero idea, but he said he would help so he will. Besides, it will teach him things. "You think so?"

"Oh, yes," she immediately says. "It's always better to work together."

And that's true whether the job in question is big or small.

"How big is your garden?"

[lostinmyway]

"Hmm...." She considers how best to answer. "It's not too big. It's just the right size!"

Her housemates would beg to differ. Norma refers to it as a jungle; it even literally turned into one during the last experiment.

"Then it would be really fun to work on, I am trying to learn how to garden. You know, just in case of any food shortages, and to avoid tainted food."

His motivations for taking up the hobby pass completely over her head. Instead, her enthusiasm is reserved for the fact that he'll be gardening at all.

"My, how wonderful! We should work together on our gardens! Is there anything you really want to grow?"
