What: Building an art gallery
When: August 11 thru whenever they finish. No later than the 16th.
Where: The open space to the left of CH 4/across from House 39
Summary: So Pepper suckered some people into manual labor. These are the results.
Rating: PG-13, maybe, if someone hits their thumb with a hammer and says bad things.

[She can't hide it; Pepper is ecstatic to take this major step in the art gallery project. The construction marks the point where the idea shifts into reality, and this time? She's responsible for much more than 12% of the baby.

Of course, the good cheer will probably turn into frustration as the building goes on, but what can she do? Other than try to supervise. And yes, Tony, that is Pepper's job, so no attempting to use it as an excuse to slack off. Also part of Pepper's job is providing drinks and food for everyone involved, and making sure there are no major injuries, so expect refreshments and first aid kits on site. And when she's not tending to anyone else's needs or watching Steve and Tony at work for reasons, Pepper might even jump into the fray, attempting a bit of building herself--success remaining to be seen.]

[Despite Steve's spectacular endurance, hours in the sun doing hard labor is enough for even him to start breaking a sweat. Pausing to take a breather, he lifts up the bottom of his shirt and uses it to wipe his face. And also give anyone looking a nice view of his abs.

He glances up when Billy come over and accepts the bottle with a grin, completely oblivious to Billy's slip.] You're right on both counts. It's hotter today than I expected.

[Oh, he's old-fashioned and naive. That's kind of adorable.

Either that or he has a brilliant poker face. Whichever it is, Billy's just grateful, although the ab shot did not help. He hastily starts fanning his face with a hand, hoping the heat is a reasonable excuse for his sudden blush. He has really awesome abs, okay.]

I, uh. Hopefully we'll get a nice breeze soon, or we'll end up having to cut the day short.

[It's actually a bit of both. He's old-fashioned and naive and has an excellent poker face. But at this moment it's pure obliviousness to the fact that he's good looking and that anyone would be looking at him that way.]

Yeah, we wouldn't want anyone passing out from heat stroke or something. But I think we can get another hour or so of work in before we call quits for the day.

[Billy's finding it difficult not to look at him that way, which is awkward at his age with his boyfriend watching, so he tries to focus on the work-in-progress instead. Maybe he can be convinced to remove the shirt once Billy is at a safe distance.]

Sorry you guys seem to be doing most of the work.

[Steve waves away Billy's comment. He's enjoying the work and doesn't mind doing some of the heavy lifting.]

I'm mostly just carrying stuff around and holding stuff in place. You guys are the ones working with the actual tools.

Yeah right- I'm not even managing that much. I'm no good with tools, so I've been just running errands all afternoon.

Haha, alright, I'll concede there. [Billy lifts his hands in a placating manner, and tries to subtly move back. Being so close and with Steve looking like that is just...

...yeah, no. He needs to move.]

Do you need any supplies? I'm open for errands!

[Steve glances over at the pile he's working from, making sure he isn't running low on nails or supplies yet.]

No, I think I'm well stocked for now. And I was thinking of taking a little break anyways.

O-of course, good idea. Wouldn't want to get tired out. Are you hungry at all? I could swing by the plaza and pick up some lunch.

[Sorry Steve, he's just eager to please.]

[Steve perks up at the mention of food. Another side effect of the serum is that fact that it causes him to eat. A lot. Faster metabolism and all.]

I could eat. Wat were you planning on getting?

Let's see... I'm thinking subs? It'd be easy to just grab a bunch of ingredients and spread them out on a table or something- that way everybody could get whatever kind they wanted.

That sounds like a good plan. Do you need someone to go with you? You might not be able to carry it all back by yourself. [Unless Billy plans on teleporting it with him or something, which would probably be easiest. But he asks anyways because he's a helpful guy.]

Don't worry about that, I think you've carried enough stuff for one day. Besides, that's what levitation magic is for.

[He offers up a cheeky grin. Levitation or teleportation or- whatever. Magic, it is versatile.]

Why not go take a rest? You've more than earned it, whether you need it or not.
