Who: Pepper Potts and her Super Secret Boyband AKA Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, Billy Kaplan, and Teddy Altman. Also anyone who wanders by and wants to comment?
What: Building an art gallery
When: August 11 thru whenever they finish. No later than the 16th.
Where: The open space to the left of CH 4/across from House 39
Summary: So Pepper suckered some people into manual labor. These are the results.
Rating: PG-13, maybe, if someone hits their thumb with a hammer and says bad things.

[She can't hide it; Pepper is ecstatic to take this major step in the art gallery project. The construction marks the point where the idea shifts into reality, and this time? She's responsible for much more than 12% of the baby.

Of course, the good cheer will probably turn into frustration as the building goes on, but what can she do? Other than try to supervise. And yes, Tony, that is Pepper's job, so no attempting to use it as an excuse to slack off. Also part of Pepper's job is providing drinks and food for everyone involved, and making sure there are no major injuries, so expect refreshments and first aid kits on site. And when she's not tending to anyone else's needs or watching Steve and Tony at work for reasons, Pepper might even jump into the fray, attempting a bit of building herself--success remaining to be seen.]

[Pepper is less concerned about them figuring out they're being watched (although she will apologize to Steve if he gets too embarrassed). Rogue seems more invested in making sure, however, so Pepper watches as the girl gets up, pours more lemonade, and then winks.]

Sure. Good luck.

[She raises her glass in a farewell salute, then glances to Billy.] You're going to blush if Steve realizes you're watching, aren't you?

[Billy returns the glance briefly before returning his gaze to the source of most of his attention, trying to avoid blushing now.]

Maybe, maybe not. Not sure he'd even realize why I'm watching with you guys.

[Steve is by no means stupid, but when it comes to attraction and romance, he does seem... kind of naive.]

[handing]

[Poor Billy.]

Well, he might have an idea if he's seen you with Teddy. Especially since you've gotten his shirt from him every day we've been here.

[Don't think Pepper hasn't noticed it, either. Billy isn't exactly subtle when it comes to his boyfriend.]

[Oho, so she saw that. Billy doesn't even have the decency to look embarrassed by that, though there is definitely a blush on his cheeks now.]

Yeah, but he is kind of old-fashioned...

[She did indeed. She really has been watching everyone, to make sure they take breaks or don't get dehydrated or overheated.]

That's true. [And from a time when homosexual relationships weren't so accepted. Pepper worries a bit then, although it's hard to imagine Steve being hateful or unaccepting.

Oblivious though? That one is much more believable.]

Well, the way you two are, it's probably a matter of time. Although you could talk to him before he figures it out on his own.

Mm... I don't know. To be honest, I'm not even sure if the Cap of my time knows about Teddy and me. It's... not really something that ever came up, and he kind of acts like we're just good friends.

[He can't blame the guy- considering his time, it's just not something one would easily assume. But he's also gay and Jewish, which was not a very good combination to be in Steve's time. It's true that Captain America is practically the epitome of all things great and heroic, but...

...he just doesn't like the idea of being treated differently. Once bitten and all that.]

[And so, after a somewhat. Awkward. Conversation with Steve that she probably would have felt better with if she'd just kept teasing him, but oh well- a Rogue with a somewhat abashed look on her face is turning back towards Pepper and Billy.

...Somewhat abashed. She's also grinning a little. In fact, it looks like she's trying to hold in laughter.

And yet there's a sheepish turn to her lips which just does not bode entirely well.]

[Pepper considers what Billy's said, and what he's not saying--he doesn't want to tell Steve. Which is fine; it's Billy's choice, and Pepper respects that. After all, she has no idea what it's like to be a gay teenager.]

Whatever you decide to do. [Then she smiles, fully intending to support Billy's decision.

Rogue comes back over then, with an interesting expression on her face. Pepper looks up at the girl, her curiosity obvious.] So how did it go?

[Rogue's return is a welcome distraction, and he glances curiously at her first, then over in Steve and Logan's direction.]

You look like you had a little too much fun with that.

[The "too much" part isn't said very seriously, though. If anything he looks amused.]

Well...

[Oh Gawd, is she still blushing? She hurries over to her lemonade, still trying not to laugh.]

Let's just say, if he didn't know, he knows now.

[handing]

[Well Pepper does laugh, even if Rogue is trying to keep it in.] Does he? What did you say to him?

Oh Lord...

[She grabs her lemonade and shakes her head.]

He just looked so lost an' embarrassed at the thought. I... couldn't help invite him ta even the playin' field.

[She's just going to burst if she doesn't laugh or sink to the floor soon.]

Is this the part where we start undoing the top buttons and posing?

[He suspects the only heads turning in his direction for that would be in confusion, though. Besides Teddy, obviously.]

[And now Pepper has to try to keep the snickering in.]

You two feel free to do that. I think I'll be too busy laughing to give a good show.

[And Rogue just gives up, covering half her face with a gloved hand.]

Oh Gawd.

[She actually said that. To Captain America.]

[Pepper's not bothering to hide it now. Between Rogue and Billy, she doesn't have a chance of not laughing.]

[Somewhat sensible to imminent danger, Rogue starts to try and pull herself together.]

I should go - find somethin' useful ta do. Before Logan finds somethin' for me.
