Who: Pepper Potts and her Super Secret Boyband AKA Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, Billy Kaplan, and Teddy Altman. Also anyone who wanders by and wants to comment?
What: Building an art gallery
When: August 11 thru whenever they finish. No later than the 16th.
Where: The open space to the left of CH 4/across from House 39
Summary: So Pepper suckered some people into manual labor. These are the results.
Rating: PG-13, maybe, if someone hits their thumb with a hammer and says bad things.

[She can't hide it; Pepper is ecstatic to take this major step in the art gallery project. The construction marks the point where the idea shifts into reality, and this time? She's responsible for much more than 12% of the baby.

Of course, the good cheer will probably turn into frustration as the building goes on, but what can she do? Other than try to supervise. And yes, Tony, that is Pepper's job, so no attempting to use it as an excuse to slack off. Also part of Pepper's job is providing drinks and food for everyone involved, and making sure there are no major injuries, so expect refreshments and first aid kits on site. And when she's not tending to anyone else's needs or watching Steve and Tony at work for reasons, Pepper might even jump into the fray, attempting a bit of building herself--success remaining to be seen.]

[Steve straightens up until he's standing in front of Rogue and accepts the lemonade with a small smile.]

Thanks. So, what do you think so far? [He nods over to the work that's been done so far. A subject change felt really good about now.]

She drawls out slowly:]

I'd say it looks good.

[Steve. She's sorry. But she's so not sorry.

You just left that so opened.]

[No comment. He gives Rogue a knowing look as he gets back to work, nearby and not out of conversational reach. But there's nothing he could really add to this to make it worse or better.]

[Okay, so slightly delusional he might be in these situations, but he's not stupid. And Rogue is being very...blunt. Even if it is in a roundabout manner. Cue flushing of the cheeks while Steve takes to staring at the ground in false fascination.]

Uh...I'm glad. Everyone has been working so far. We wouldn't be this far along already without everyone pitching in...

[...oh Lord.

She could have gone on teasing him for... well... a while. But he skipped straight to blushing and looking down. And now she feels guilty.

Her smile softens a little.]

Hey. [And if that doesn't get him looking up at her, she'll tilt her head to try and meet his eyes.] We're all pitchin' in. You've certainly got nothing ta be ashamed of - [and she means that in any way] - so just remember the most important part of 'group projects.'

[Dramatic pause.

Warm grin.]

Turnabout is fair play.

[Yup. She just. Said that. Assuming she caught his gaze at some point, she holds it for just a beat more before her grin turns a touch sheepish and Rogue quickly turns to walk away, back to Billy and Pepper.

...she can't believe she just said that. Hopefully Logan won't choke. Oh Gawd. But hey, an invitation to mutual embarrassment at least makes things on even footing, and the Captain could use a slight shake in this department. Yes. She's totally justified.

[And all that has accomplished it make Steve blush even harder and stare at the ground even more intensely. If he had any sort of eye lasers, the ground would be non-existent by now.

He's speechless. Just...speechless. Congrats on breaking his brain Rogue.]

[... Rogue. Logan's eyes widen and he turns around just long enough to see her walking away. That kid just surprises him more and more.

But that leaves him with poor Steve.]
