What: It's Elliot's birthday!
When: Backdated to the 8th.
Where: House 53. Gilbert's doing catering, after all.
Summary: Huffy Young Master Nightray grows a year older. Technically.

[Leo had never been any good at celebrating birthdays. Sure, he knew that cake was a good idea, and gifts obligatory (spending a year in a house full of children clued him in on this, granted), but when it came to making preparations, it was simply easier to leave it to Gilbert . Not all of it, of course, just-- the most important bits.

That's why the preparations are kept simple-- Elliot really wasn't the kind for huge parties anyway and this seemed appropriate. ]

[HELLO THERE PARTNER-IN-CRIME. Jack is very happy (and not surprised at all) to see you here! Wow, Elliot has been making a lot of friends. Although, come to think of it, Jack thinks he recalls seeing her at Elliot's last party too...]

[Oh yay Jack's here too! Or well. Yellow shouldn't be surprised by that at all, considering how he lives here. But anyway. She gives him a smile and an enthusiastic wave when she sees him.]

Are you here for Elliot's party?

[It's a bit of a rhetorical question, but since Elliot didn't really make a big deal about his birthday, it's also sort of an important one.]

Yep! I came last year when he had one, too. Did you help set it up?

Oh no, I'm afraid I can't take any of the credit for that. That's all Gil's doing.

Ohh... Well, that's really nice of Gilbert to put this all together for him.

It is, isn't it? He's such a nice person. He acts like he doesn't care, but he really does worry about Elliot deep down.

I noticed. It's really nice! And they're brothers, aren't they?

Yes, they're adopted brothers. That doesn't seem to make much of a difference to them, though.

Well, even if they're adopted brothers, they're still family. So it's nice to see how they do care about each other even then.

That's right-- family is family, even if you aren't related by blood. You should always look after them.

[a nod] Definitely! I agree. Do you have any brothers or sisters, Jack?

Two older brothers, but I'm afraid I'm not very close to them at all. They never did like me all that much, you see. But it's all right; I had my cute little servants. They were all the family I needed.

Oh... that's too bad. I'm sorry about that, Jack.. [She kind of wonders what the reasoning behind that is, but maybe that's not something she should ask.] Um... You had servants too though? Like Gilbert and Leo?

Actually, Gilbert was my servant! He was so cute when he was little, really. You'd never imagine it now, but he was such a little scaredy-cat. He was afraid of everything back then.

[Wait.. little.. JACK JUST HOW OLD ARE YOU...]

Really? That doesn't sound much like Gilbert now. [It makes her laugh a bit, actually. Oh, Gilbert...] But... could I ask you a question, Jack?
