Prescribed Recreation part 3: Chillax'n with a Vengeance

What: Movie night on the beach

Where: The Beach
Summary: After an unfortunate tussle with a Chaos God, work on a farm, a swarm of refugees and stress piled upon stress, sometimes all anyone wants is to sit back and watch classic movies.
Rating: PG for possible adult language
Something that everyone could agree on was this: the past three weeks had been several shades of stressful. What they needed, what they all needed was something mindless and relaxing shared in the company of those they care for in a neutral environment. The beach works well enough, and it's not that far a trip for anyone involved.

[If he knew this was being hosted by Adele, he likely would have landed even closer! But for now, he's comfortable perched away from the rest of them. Draco looks right back down at Saori, just as curious.]

Ah... Good evening. I'm not intruding, am I?

[windandrain]

Of course not. Its a party. We were going to watch a film, and relax.

[A sudden burst of wind takes her up into the air, the storm god hovering just in front of the dragon's face. Its been ages since she's seen one.]

I do not think anyone would mind a fine looking gentleman like you joining us. May I ask your name?

[merelychewed]

[Well, that's new. Draco gives a jump, startled by the sudden wind and then the woman hovering in the air. Nothing else happens after that, though, so he has no reason to deem it a threat.]

Even so, I think I might watch from back here. Provided, of course, you might tell me what a film is? [Movies and videos he's heard of, but he has no idea film is just another word for those. He's also still never seen one!] And of course. These days I go by Draco, a good a name as any other I've had.

[She beams at the dragon. She didn't want a fight, so its good he didn't see her as a threat...though he might be surprised if he had]

A film is...a movie? A video, like in the journals? Actors on a screen, acting out a sort of play.

[She nods assuredly]

Draco is a fine name. I am Saori. It is pleasant to meet you.

[merelychewed]

Movies I've heard of. Moving pictures, aren't they? That tell a story... [The mention of the journal gets a small shake of his head, though.] Though I have not been able to use the journals, so I wouldn't know about that type.

[He nods at one of his massive clawed hands. These are not made for books.]

The pleasure is all mine, Saori. [There's a pause, but eventually he has to add:] Do you often float?

[windandrain]

That's right, Draco. They tell a story, this one is a hero story about a man from another world.

[She looks at his hands and her eyes widen. Right, of course, he couldn't change forms. He was a Western dragon. How sad and lonely he must be...]

And yes, I do often float. The air is mine by right to command, so I choose to do so. Especially when I wish to speak with an interesting, scaled stranger who's much larger than myself. [Her lips curl into a cheeky half smile, almost a smirk.]

[Such is the life of a dragon! He doesn't always mind the solitude, at least.]

About a man, hrm? Hopefully it will be an interesting besides that. [Draco frowns at her other claim, though.] Is it now? That's a tall claim, commanding a whole element like that.

[windandrain]

Yes, he's a hero. The last of his kind, with many special powers. People call him Superman.

[When he frowns however...]
But of course. [Her eyes flicker, and if Draco's watching he might see electricity zipping through them]

I am a god of the sky. It is my right to bend the wind, and storms, to my will.

[merelychewed]

That last of his kind...

[Now he is looking forward to this. That's something Draco can relate to, if nothing else. He doesn't dwell on that thought for long, though. Not when he appears to have ended up in the company of yet another god. He gives her an uncertain look at first, but then bows his head a bit to her.]

Then I shall have to keep in mind to stay on your good side, my lady. The sky is somewhere I find myself more often than not!

Oh she just loves you, Draco...

[windandrain]

Yes, the last...Kryptonian I believe. Some manner of being from the sky beyond.

[She regards Draco for a moment, inclining her own head with a wide, upbeat smile]

I should think you'll find it easy enough, my new friend. I've a fondness for dragons, particularly gentlemanly ones with kind voices. Fear not, the winds will ever be in your favor.

Well, he is the most charming of giant lizards.

[merelychewed]

From the sky beyond? [He tilts his head curiously.] Well, which sky would that be? Isn't it all the same one?

[Ah, but flattery does get one everywhere with a dragon. He leans away and buffs his claws against his chest scales a bit, not unlike a human might, and that's as close to preening as he'll get.]

Aha, well, it wouldn't do to not be polite in such good company, after all.

[windandrain]

Space. Other planets. The stars, I mean. The sky beyond the sky.

[Saori laughs lightly, watching him with interest.]

I'm glad you think so, my new friend.

[merelychewed]

Planets? [Not a word he's familiar with, which shows from the confused squint he gives her.] The stars, though... I'm not sure I understand. How would a man be among the stars in the first place?

[Unless mankind had their own heaven among them. A strange idea, then, that he would have come back at all!]

[windandrain]

Other worlds, celestial bodies. Saturn, Mars, Venus.

[She shrugs]

Sorcery, or with ships built to fly.

[merelychewed]

A ship.

[Well, this is a strange place with people from more strange places, so why not?]

A ship to other places among the stars. Alright. It is only a story, so I should not question so much, I suppose.

[windandrain]

No, not really. It's meant to be fun, Draco.

Though...given how this place works, there's a chance Superman could appear here.

[merelychewed]

Really? A character from a story, here? That can't be right.

[Not something he'd want to believe, considering some weird kid has already acted familiar with his history.]

[windandrain]

Well, I've seen some people I recognize, from books and things. And people who know the same stories I do. Its possible, maybe?

How would it work, though? Taking people from stories. This is a stranger world than I'd thought if it has that power.

[windandrain]

Honestly? I have no idea. I've never tried to work it out, I just think of it as magic of some sort.

[merelychewed]

[He snorts.]

Pfah, magic. I think that is how I must explain nearly everything here...

[windandrain]

Well, I am not...exactly...unmagical myself. Its easy to accept, for me.

[merelychewed]

Yes, well, you're a goddess. That's different. I know what a goddess is! The rest of this, though!

[He's old and cranky and these new fangled objects that may or may not be magic won't get off his lawn.]

It makes me glad there's a mountain range to retreat to when all else is said and done around Luceti.

[windandrain]

I agree with you there. I vastly prefer the forest, and this beach, to the village itself. I suppose I should make more of an effort to visit the mountains though. I only go there occasionally, but the view is lovely.
