Where: The Beach
Summary: After an unfortunate tussle with a Chaos God, work on a farm, a swarm of refugees and stress piled upon stress, sometimes all anyone wants is to sit back and watch classic movies.
Rating: PG for possible adult language
Something that everyone could agree on was this: the past three weeks had been several shades of stressful. What they needed, what they all needed was something mindless and relaxing shared in the company of those they care for in a neutral environment. The beach works well enough, and it's not that far a trip for anyone involved.

Honestly? I've never studied it. I know that Master Yoda had a much stricter interpretation than I, or Grandmaster Sunrider.

[He pauses, an eyebrow rising]

I...also remember Grandmaster Sunrider having a conversation with Obi-Wan about attachments. Why do you ask?

I almost wish Master Sunrider was here for me to speak to on the matter. Almost.

[There'd been something comforting in the absolute certainty the woman had in her code. It shows in Luke as well, shades of it.]

I went to Rei at her shrine and she had another vision. One quite a bit more pleasant than the last. It was of Ben and I.

[He shrugs]

What sort of vision was it?

Almost. I am more comfortable discussing this with you than I am her.

[She rubs the palm of her left hand, remembering the sting of a cut from months ago.]

A...romantic vision.

[Luke turns. You have his undivided attention now!]

Rei saw Ben and I walking through a field of flowers, hand in hand, and into a cave.

It is what she showed me, yes.

I think...I've been trying to ignore anything that I might feel for Ben beyond the platonic. Blame it on Levarre rather than consider it something I feel on my own.

Have you really? I think, perhaps, it may be good for the both of you.

[fleurdesel]

It's a frightening thought. I was close to Rick but it wasn't anything like this. Rick was...hormones and attraction. Comfort found in similar bends of fatalism and sarcasm. A friend that I was attracted to and had potential.

This is something else entirely.

I understand, Adele. Its...chemistry.

That's one way of putting it. [She huffs a soft, wry laugh.] I'm too old to be so uncertain.

Have you said anything?

[fleurdesel]

No. I'm still...I know how I feel, I'm just uncertain how to go about it. It has been a very, very long time for me, Faucon.

Its been longer for Ben, I'm sure.

[His eyes are questioning]

I was sixteen.

[A beat, then a smile.]

Oui. It means Hawk.

Yes, much longer for Ben. I think he's grown one millimeter of beard for every day he's gone on denying love and attachment.

[fleurdesel]

...Oh dear.

[The tone is probably familiar enough to Luke.]

Have you talked to him?

[fleurdesel]

I'm not certain how to go about doing so. I'm a bit out of sorts in this area.

[thefinaljedi]

Maybe...talk to him over a nice dinner? Say something? Anything?

You know he won't pick up on hints. He's denser than Ami or I.

[fleurdesel]

I will talk to him tonight after the movie and see how that goes...if he seems of a mind, I'll be blunt. If he seems avoidant...I'll be subtle until it clicks.

That may take longer than you think, but I wish you luck. You'll both be happier for it. I'm certain he'll reciprocate, in any event.
