Prescribed Recreation part 3: Chillax'n with a Vengeance

Who: House 44, House 46, House 3, Saori, Steve Rogers, and whoever wanders in
What: Movie night on the beach
When: September 9th, in the evening
Where: The Beach
Summary: After an unfortunate tussle with a Chaos God, work on a farm, a swarm of refugees and stress piled upon stress, sometimes all anyone wants is to sit back and watch classic movies.
Rating: PG for possible adult language
Something that everyone could agree on was this: the past three weeks had been several shades of stressful. What they needed, what they all needed was something mindless and relaxing shared in the company of those they care for in a neutral environment. The beach works well enough, and it's not that far a trip for anyone involved.

I have not had much reason to as of late but perhaps I should. To be honest I'm more curious to hear more music from other worlds.

Really? Well...I'd happily share music from mine with you. I know the Little Fox and Del-chan would as well.
thebellthatbinds: (what was that?)

If it sounds anything like what you were playing earlier then I would be very happy to listen.

[Those pet names make her pause though.]

Little Fox and...who?

Those are nicknames, right?

[She's heard Lupin, Sanji and Rei use 'chan' after names but she still doesn't know the significance behind it.]

...Yes.

[She laughs, guessing the problem]

The Little Fox is Lupin. And Del-chan is Adele. Chan...is used as a sign of affection in Japanese, a close friend or a sister. San is added for friends. It would be rare for a mortal Japanese person to not use either Chan or San. But if one does...its a sign of deep caring and respect.

O-Oh...I see.

[Sabriel's cheeks flush a faint pink as Saori's explanation sinks in. She's touched, really...it wasn't quite like when she was given a nickname from someone else in the enclosure but that so much could be expressed in a simple word attached to a name is a little humbling.]

Is something wrong?
thebellthatbinds: (sweet smile)

[personal profile] thebellthatbinds 2012-09-14 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Not at all, I am just...recalling the times I have heard those words in conjunction with my own name.

Ahh, then someone values you greatly, dear. And that is good, to be loved.
thebellthatbinds: (don't worry)

Yes, it is. When I next see them I intend to return the sentiment if I can.

I'm sure they would appreciate that, very much.
thebellthatbinds: (oh well)

I'm not entirely sure how to go about it but...I'll think of something.

Good. Gestures of kindness are always good.
