Summary: Like last year, Oswald is celebrating his anniversary abundantly with his self-proclaimed Oswald Day. There will be festivities all around.
Rating: That really depends on the characters threading, but Oswald's trying to spread cheer.

[It's the 5th of September, and so the long-awaited day has come. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit's anniversary! Plans have been in the works for months now, and he's finished his preparations in the nick of time. Early in the morning, he leaves a message on the journal systems similar to last year's, complete with S.O.S. Brigade promotion. Then he heads out to show both New Feathers and veteran Luceti residents alike that this place can be fun if you let it.

The schedule is roughly the same as last year's. A loud parade through the streets in the morning, a cartoon marathon in the late afternoon and in the evening, there will be fireworks! It's there for anyone and everyone to enjoy, so go ahead and mingle. Either seek Oswald out or enjoy the festivities with a friend. Oswald will do his best to spread the celebrations throughout the entire village.

The Parade

[Much like last year, Oswald's starting the day off with a parade. However, he's expanded his efforts and over the past few weeks, he's built himself an actual float. If you can call it that, anyway. It's a wagon that was clearly hammered together by an amateur (one wobbly wheel included) and then decorated with bright colors. The decorations are supposed to represent fireworks, but it could just as well be a Picasso painting.

No matter how slipshod, Oswald is not deterred. He sits proudly atop his float as it's being pulled along by his mechanical cow and, yes, Oswald is holding a trumpet. A trumpet he will blow continuously to toot loud musical notes. He's playing the song to Trolley Troubles, but it's doubtful anyone will recognize it.

The parade will keep going for two hours and Oswald fully expects people to join in. He's got enough musical instruments to go around.]

[ NEW FEATHER PRESENT o/ she might have nooo idea where she is, but heads to the loud noises nearby to try to get some bearings. and then just stops and stares and watches because wait IS THAT A POKEMON and IS IT PLAYING MUSIC and WHAT IS GOING ON.

[Oswald continues to toot his music until he spots Platina. That's when he puts the trumpet down and pulls the reigns of the cow to bring the 'parade' to a full stop.]

Hey hey! You feel like joining in?

[After being brought back when he was, Jeb is definitely seeing Oswald Day as a welcomed break from everything. That's not to say that he's back to 100%, though--he's still really upset about a lot.

But seeing the little float brings a bright smile to Jeb's face, no matter how miserable he feels. He can definitely count on Oswald to make things a little better, can't he? He's approaching now!]

[Oswald was a little oblivious to Jeb's departure and return. He was too busy getting things ready for this holiday. He also still fully remembers how Jeb joined the parade last year, so he stops playing his trumpet and grabs a tambourine to hold out to the boy.]

Come on, Jeb! Let's get marchin'!

[Grune will definitely join in. Once the float goes by wherever she happens to be at the time, she'll applaud and then just sort of...tag along after it. Hey, it's tradition.]

[Eeexcellent. Oswald rummages through his pile of instruments and pulls out a small drum. He holds it out for Grune to take.]

[You know, he's a member of her Brigade, so she needs to show solidarity. So she's in the parade dressed as such. You know, while she can remember putting this outfit together back at North High... it feels different now. Her hair is longer and while she's no taller, her body's changed in a lot of other subtle ways (she is twenty now, after all) and so it fits differently. Oh well. It still looks good (in her professional opinion) so she's marching with gusto and abandon, humming in tune to the music]

[Oswald won't say it out loud, but he does appreciate that solidarity. It's nice to know his pals are standing by him as he embarks on his quest to gain popularity- both for himself and for his friends back home in Wasteland. A thought hits him and he turns in his seat to address Haruhi.]

Hey Boss! Ya should wear a hat next year!

[You know, even though he totally helped out with the fireworks and such, the parade still kinda baffles Leon. He managed to catch part of it last year, but it definitely seems to be ... better this year. He claps at the sight of the wagon-float thing.]

[And Oswald waves back, playing a cheerful note on his trumpet before lowering it.]

Cartoon Marathon

[In order to show cartoons to the best of his ability, Oswald's had to find a building big enough to 'host' them. And indeed, so he has. He's set up his projector to project the cartoons directly onto the walls of the barracks. It's like a movie screen, showing fifteen feet high, twenty feet wide cartoons. The big 'outdoor theater' starts around four in the afternoon and will keep on running until eightish, if all goes well. Alas, there are no chairs, but surely people can sit on the ground.

Aside from his own shorts, Oswald's brought some classic Disney shorts. Silly Symphonies such as The Old Mill and The Skeleton Dance, shorts of Goofy, Donald and Pluto... He's even got Steamboat Willie, but he's not showing any Mickey Mouse shorts unless someone requests them.

There is also a junkfood stand. Yes, it was put together crudely, but it's got all the works. Popcorn, chocolate, candy, soda bottles... Oswald's been hoarding groceries for a month, now.]

[Aang seats himself somewhere on the floor and watches on, popcorn in hand, quickly being captivated by the moving cartoon images.]

[Once Oswald has a moment to spare, he'll sidle up beside Aang to have a seat too.]

So, how do ya like it?

[...this is really, really bizarre, especially since he's got a looot of someone else's memories of Donald and Goofy. So don't mind him, he's pretty much just staring at the screen with the most skeptical look on his face as he tries to figure this all out. He might occasionally move from his spot to grab some candy or popcorn but for the most part, he's just staring and eventually taking notes about the movies.]

[Oh look, it's Rox- Ven... No, wait, Roxas. Definitely Roxas. Don't mind Oswald as he moves beside the kid and maybe blocks the screen for a few people behind him while he does so.]

[Oh, hey, Roxas--feel like watching the cartoons with a friend? Because here's Grune wandering on up to you with some chocolate-covered peanuts and a bottle of soda. She's looking much better than the last time they talked; the nice thing about being her is really fast recoveries.]

[Marco got a kick out of these last year, but they seemed a lot stranger then. This year, he's just making sure to catch them again now that he can appreciate them more. And dang there are a lot.]

[Ven stares at the screen, totally awstruck. This isn't something he's particularly used to. But man, those are some fun little shorts! Not just the ones with Oswald, but the ones with Goofy and Donald. Who knew they had such wacky adventures?


He's got some snacks on hand, but for the most part he's totally entranced.]

[Well, we nearly forgot your little celebration that you mentioned to us about a month ago in the wake of recent events, but it seems our "Movie Connoisseur" senses today have brought him here to the outdoor theater set-up.

And because Cilan is kind of a huge dork when it comes to movies and things of that nature, of course he stopped whatever he was doing before to sit and watch for a little while. He's even got his Pokemon sitting close with him so that they can get a chance to watch too. (Crustle and it's shell having been moved where it won't be potentially blocking anyone that for some reason chooses to sit behind them, of course.)]

[Well she does live right over there... She probably saw the parade and/or the crowd of people getting to here and followed them on in. And when she does...

Wow this is actually sort of funny. With nothing better to do today, she takes a seat (after going back home go get a blanket to sit on at least) to watch these for some time]

[The last time Seto came to see everything on Oswald day, he had been deathly ill and could hardly even open his eyes to watch whatever was happening with the cartoons and fireworks. He couldn't even walk around on his own! It was pretty depressing to say the least but this year is different!!

With his eyesight back to normal and being healthy as a clam, he isn't missing this day for anything. So he's sitting on the ground, staring up at the cartoon that's being projected on the wall. It's so amazing... ]

Fireworks

[And the grand finale, the fireworks! Loud bangs, whizzes and high-pitched whoops ring through the village as they take to the sky around ten in the evening. Fireworks are Oswald's favorite, and Leon made sure to provide this year. He even made it so that the fireworks show outlines of everyone's favorite rabbit in the sky- a head and two ears, anyway. Colorful and bright, it's the perfect way to end the day. ... Unless you're trying to sleep early, then you may have to endure this for about ten minutes.]

[It's late, but Aang stayed up to watch the fireworks. And he got himself the best seat in the house: Appa's back. He doesn't want to hog this view for himself, so he flies around looking for people who'd want lifts.]

[Still in the outfit she had on earlier, Haruhi had zoned out during some of the cartoon watching to do other things, but she's back for the fireworks. Watching them with a smile and generally feeling proud that a member of her Brigade did this]
